20 Jun 2010TL;DR: The modeling and simulation of CMOS leakage currents and its minimization approach to reduce the power consumption by a single cell SRAM cache and shows that the current reduction of around 25% in s simulation model, respectively in comparison with the conventional cell with no current reduction technique.
Abstract: The emerging Wireless Sensor Network technologies are facilitating novel applications in health monitoring, industrial monitoring and security surveillance. The small physical dimensions of wireless sensor nodes often restrict the energy source to a small battery. The limited energy consumption requirement demands for ultra-low power sensing, processing and communication. This paper targets the modeling and simulation of CMOS leakage currents and its minimization approach to reduce the power consumption by a single cell SRAM cache. The popular approaches for leakage reduction are the data retention gated ground, and dynamic threshold voltage for cache. The work focuses on the simulation of a SRAM Cell for the data retention gated ground and drowsy mode SRAM Cell which shows that the current reduction of around 25% in s simulation model, respectively in comparison with the conventional cell with no current reduction technique.

TL;DR: This paper attempts to numerically analyze the behavior of q-deformed version of Henon map, which is one of the prototypical models exhibiting strange chaotic attractor, and characterize the complete deformation parameter space into different regions corresponding to the periodic and strange chaotic motions.
Abstract: A recent proposal of q-deformation scheme for the nonlinear maps has stimulated new directions in the studies of various nonlinear dynamical systems. Such studies are advantageous in the analytical modeling of several nonlinear physical phenomena which cannot be perfectly represented by the standard or canonical models. This paper attempts to numerically analyze the behavior of q-deformed version of Henon map, which is one of the prototypical models exhibiting strange chaotic attractor. We particularly investigate the effect of q-deformation on the various kinds of long-term asymptotic dynamics of the canonical Henon map and also characterize the complete deformation parameter space into different regions corresponding to the periodic and strange chaotic motions. We also identify the route to chaos and new structures in the chaotic strange attractor of q-deformed Henon map.

01 Jan 2019TL;DR: In this article, the potential of Nitinol (alloy of Ni and Ti) SMA damper to control structural vibrations when subjected to underground blast through a detailed computational study by considering a two-story steel frame as an example problem.
Abstract: The utilization of smart structure technologies to mitigate the vibrations of structures have been the prime focus of numerous scientists involved in the area of structural vibration control. Smart materials serve multiple purposes like that of sensing, actuation and also exhibit the capability of modifying and adjusting the structural behavior when subjected to sudden external shock like earthquake or blast. Smart materials are basically defined as those materials possessing special features and can be applied in the design of structures to enhance the structural performance. Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) are the most promising and prominent class of smart materials. When strained beyond 6–8%, SMAs possess the ability to regain its original shape. Reversible phase transformation is responsible for such sort of shape recovery. It can be either stress induced (pseudo-elasticity) or temperature induced (shape memory effect). This paper shows the potential of Nitinol (alloy of Ni and Ti) SMA damper to control structural vibrations when subjected to underground blast through a detailed computational study by considering a two-story steel frame as an example problem. Different bracing configurations of the damper are taken into account. A comparative study showing the effectiveness SMA braced damper over the conventional steel bracing is also carried out.
