TL;DR: In this paper, a search for heavy bottom-like quarks, pair-produced in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, undertaken with the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented.
Abstract: Results are presented from a search for heavy bottom-like quarks, pair-produced in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, undertaken with the CMS experiment at the LHC. The b' quarks are assumed to decay exclusively to tW. The b' anti-b' to t W(+) anti-t W(-) process can be identified by its distinctive signatures of three leptons or two leptons of same charge, and at least one b-quark jet. Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 inverse femtobarns, observed events are compared to the standard model background predictions, and the existence of b' quarks having masses below 611 GeV is excluded at 95% confidence level.

TL;DR: An explicit upper bound for the number of zeros of the integral of degree n polynomials f, g, on the open interval for which the cubic curve contains an oval was derived in this article.
Abstract: An explicit upper bound is derived for the number of the zeros of the integral of degree n polynomials f, g, on the open interval for which the cubic curve contains an oval. The proof exploits the properties of the Picard-Fuchs system satisfied by the four basic integrals , i,j=0,1, generating the module of complete Abelian integrals I(h) (over the ring of polynomials in h).

TL;DR: In this article, a new measurement of the inclusive production cross section for pp to t t-bar is performed at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV using data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC.
Abstract: A new measurement of the inclusive production cross section for pp to t t-bar is performed at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV using data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The analysis uses a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 inverse picobarns, and is based on the final state with one isolated, high transverse momentum muon or electron, missing transverse energy, and hadronic jets. The ttbar content of the selected events is enhanced by requiring the presence of at least one jet consistent with b-quark hadronization. The measured cross section is 150 +/- 9 (stat.) +/- 17 syst.) +/- 6 (lumi.) pb and is in agreement with higher-order QCD calculations. The combination of this measurement with a previous CMS result based on dileptons gives 154 +/- 17 (stat.+syst.) +/- 6 (lumi.) pb.

TL;DR: Eight Lactobacillus plantarum strains isolated from Bulgarian cheeses and selected for their potential probiotic properties were characterized, and one strain withstood the technological processing and retained high number of bacteria at the end of the 3 months storage period at 4 °C.
