TL;DR: In this paper, a search for new physics is performed using isolated same-sign dileptons with at least two b-quark jets in the final state, based on a 4.98 inverse femtobarn sample of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV collected by the CMS detector.
Abstract: A search for new physics is performed using isolated same-sign dileptons with at least two b-quark jets in the final state. Results are based on a 4.98 inverse femtobarn sample of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV collected by the CMS detector. No excess above the standard model background is observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set on the number of events from non-standard-model sources. These limits are used to set constraints on a number of new physics models. Information on acceptance and efficiencies are also provided so that the results can be used to confront additional models in an approximate way.

TL;DR: Patients submitted to surgical debulking and hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy were reviewed and the potential prognostic survival factors for advanced epithelial ovarian cancer in this center were evaluated.
Abstract: Background and Objectives Advanced ovarian cancer typically spreads in a diffuse intra-abdominal fashion. This characteristic suggests that combined radical surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy may be a useful treatment procedure. The purpose of this study was to review patients submitted to surgical debulking and hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIIC) and to evaluate the potential prognostic survival factors for advanced epithelial ovarian cancer in our center. Methods A series of patients (N = 33) diagnosed of peritoneal carcinomatosis for epithelial ovarian cancer (stage III) from January 1997 to December 2004 submitted to radical surgery-peritonectomy and HIIC with paclitaxel was included in this study; 19 primary ovarian cancer and 14 recurrent ovarian cancer. Results Cytoreduction R0 (P = 0.018) and negative lymph nodes (P = 0.005) were covariables for major prognostic survival. Patients with optimal cytoreduction R0 obtained survival rates of 63% at 5 years in recurrent ovarian cancer and 60% in primary ovarian cancer, 71% and 63%, respectively with associated subtotal infra-abdominal peritonectomy, and even better results if negative lymph nodes. Conclusions Radical surgery-peritonectomy with HIIQ has been shown to be a surgical procedure with high tolerability, low morbimortality, enhanced survival, and prolonged disease-free interval in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis so much for recurrent or primary ovarian cancer. TL;DR: This work implemented WebRacer, the first dynamic race detector for web applications, implemented atop the production-quality WebKit engine, enabling testing of full-featured web sites and discovered many harmful races.
Abstract: Modern web pages are becoming increasingly full-featured, and this additional functionality often requires greater use of asynchrony. Unfortunately, this asynchrony can trigger unexpected concurrency errors, even though web page scripts are executed sequentially. We present the first formulation of a happens-before relation for common web platform features. Developing this relation was a non-trivial task, due to complex feature interactions and browser differences. We also present a logical memory access model for web applications that abstracts away browser implementation details.Based on the above, we implemented WebRacer, the first dynamic race detector for web applications. WebRacer is implemented atop the production-quality WebKit engine, enabling testing of full-featured web sites. WebRacer can also simulate certain user actions, exposing more races. We evaluated WebRacer by testing a large set of Fortune 100 company web sites. We discovered many harmful races, and also gained insights into how developers handle asynchrony in practice.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe theoretical and experimental results obtained in an effort to optimize the series resonant converter (SRC) when used with a loosely coupled transformer for inductive coupling power transfer (ICPT).
Abstract: This paper describes some theoretical and experimental results obtained in an effort to optimize the series resonant converter (SRC) when used with a loosely coupled transformer for inductive coupling power transfer (ICPT). The main goal of this work is to define precisely which mode of operation of the power stage is the most efficient. The results also suggest a way to choose the design criteria for the physical parameters (operation frequency, characteristic impedance, transformer ratio, etc.) to achieve that mode of operation. The analysis involves also the investigation of the separated in two halves pot core ferrite transformer, especially the way it changes its magnetizing and leakage fluxes and hence, inductances. It is shown that for the practical values of the separation distance, the leakage inductance remains almost unchanged. Nevertheless the current distribution between the primary and the secondary windings changes drastically due to the large variation of the magnetizing inductance. The analysis has lead to a set of equations with solutions that show graphically the way to an optimized operation of the converter, i.e. higher primary currents and higher transformer ratios to fit in the desired mode
