27 Mar 2012TL;DR: In this paper, a radio-frequency IDentification (RFID) over power line technology was developed for automatic identification, power control, and payment/ticketing through the power lines.
Abstract: Easily installable and highly reliable data communications over power line is a requirement to make Smart Grid more convenient and useful than fixed grid systems. Therefore RFID (Radio-Frequency IDentification) over Power Line technology was developed. Unlike conventional RFID carrying data wirelessly by antenna, radio-frequency signals for identification and payment runs through the power line in Smart Grid. The appliances embedded with IC card chips are detected and identified when their electrical plug connectors are inserted into the outlets in the electrical grid equipped with reader/writers. This system has the potential to revolutionize the usage of Power Line Communications with applications such as automatic identification, power control, and payment/ticketing through the power lines.

17 Oct 2005TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a data providing system including a data-acquisition apparatus having acquiring-side receiving means for receiving the provision image data from the data-providing apparatus via the network.
Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide a data providing system including a data providing apparatus having provision image data generating means for generating provision image data of a provision image which is reusable by inlaying a predetermined advertisement image into a predetermined template image into which a predetermined user image can be inlaid as superimposed upon the predetermined advertisement image and providing-side transmitting means for transmitting the provision image data via a network. The data providing system also includes a data acquisition apparatus having acquiring-side receiving means for receiving the provision image data from the data providing apparatus via the network, transmission image data generating means for generating transmission image data of a transmission image for displaying the provision image based on the provision image data onto a predetermined display means, inlaying the predetermined user image as superimposed upon the predetermined advertisement image into the template image of the provision image, and displaying the predetermined user image together with the template image in preference to the predetermined advertisement image until the predetermined user image is detached from the template image, and acquiring-side transmitting means for transmitting the transmission image data to a predetermined destination via the network.

18 Jan 2000TL;DR: In this paper, a memory card is disclosed which has a card body having a concavity formed at the forward end thereof in the inserting direction and in which terminals are disposed and projections are formed between the terminals (5) to prevent the terminals(5) from being touched or accessed from outside.
Abstract: A memory card is disclosed which has a card body (2) having a concavity (9) formed at the forward end thereof in the inserting direction and in which terminals (5) are disposed and projections (10) are formed between the terminals (5) to prevent the terminals (5) from being touched or accessed from outside. A receptacle for the memory card is also disclosed. The memory card has a simple structure designed to positively protect the terminals and easily let out dust or the like from inside, thereby permitting to assure a positive connection with the receptacle.

17 Feb 2012TL;DR: In this paper, the control unit determines whether or not to change a topology of a communication group when a new wireless communication device to enter the communication group appears, and when a communication topology where the wireless communications device acts as a group owner and the other wireless communication devices act as a client of the wireless device is formed.
Abstract: Provided is a wireless communication device including a control unit that controls the wireless communication device to act as a group owner or a client, and a communication unit that communicates with another wireless communication device according to control by the control unit, and, when a communication group having a topology where the wireless communication device acts as a group owner and the another wireless communication device acts as a client of the wireless communication device is formed, and a new wireless communication device to enter the communication group appears, the control unit determines whether or not to change a topology of the communication group
