13 Feb 1998TL;DR: In this paper, a graphical text entry system is described, which includes a small electronic device with a pointing device for rotating a graphical entry wheel to allow a user to select one of the characters on the entry wheel for text entry.
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, a graphical text entry system is provided. The graphical text entry system includes a graphical text entry screen, preferably on a small electronic device, and a graphical text entry wheel displayed on the graphical text entry screen. A plurality of characters are positioned on the graphical text entry wheel. The system also includes a pointing device for rotating the graphical text entry wheel to allow a user to select one of the characters on the graphical text entry wheel to be entered. After selection of one or more characters, the graphical text entry system may provide suggested next characters or words to aid in text entry. A method for entering text into an electronic device using the graphical text entry system of the invention is also provided.

TL;DR: In this article, an information processing apparatus is disclosed which includes an image-information obtaining unit (1) configured to obtain first image information (210), an information associating unit configured to generate first related information (211) having certain content related to the first image, and an information controller configured to cause the display processor (5) to display the representative image only when the determining unit determines that the condition is satisfied.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is disclosed which includes an image-information obtaining unit (1) configured to obtain first image information (210); an information associating unit configured to generate first related information (211) having certain content related to the first image information and to associate the first related information (211) with the first image information (210); a display processor (5) configured to use function data including second image information and condition information (202) to display an image of the second image information, and to allow display of a representative image representing the first image information on the image of the second image information; a determining unit configured to determine whether the content of the first related information (211) associated with the first image information (210) represented by the representative image satisfies a condition represented by the condition information (202); and a display controller (7) configured to cause the display processor (5) to display the representative image only when the determining unit determines that the condition is satisfied.

25 Sep 2006TL;DR: In this article, the first and second reflective volume hologram diffraction grating members are arranged at an equal pitch and each interference fringe and each surface of the first member form an inclination angle there between.
Abstract: An optical device includes a light guide plate, and first and second reflective volume hologram diffraction grating members. The first member has interference fringes extending from therewithin towards surfaces thereof and arranged at an equal pitch. Each interference fringe and each surface of the first member form an inclination angle therebetween. The first member has the following conditions. (a) In an outer region positioned farther away from the second member than a minimum inclination angle region having a minimum inclination angle, the inclination angles of the interference fringes increase with increasing distance from the minimum inclination angle region. (b) In an inner region positioned closer to the second member than the minimum inclination angle region, the inclination angles of the interference fringes include a maximum inclination angle in an inner area disposed adjacent to the minimum inclination angle region and decrease with increasing distance from the minimum inclination angle region.
