12 Jan 2002TL;DR: In this paper, an enlargement phenomenon of a wiring groove pattern is suppressed which is produced when a wiring hole and a connection hole are formed with the aid of hard masks of two layers.
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device, an enlargement phenomenon of a wiring groove pattern is suppressed which is produced when a wiring groove and a connection hole are formed with the aid of hard masks of two layers and when the wiring groove pattern is formed by etching in the lower layer hard mask with the aid of the upper layer hard mask, wiring groove working with high accuracy and high reliability is realized, and short circuit failure of groove wiring lines is eliminated. In the method of manufacturing the semiconductor device in which the connection hole is formed in a first insulating film while mask layers of plural layers are used, and the wiring groove is formed in a second insulating film, the mask layers of the plural layers are formed in such a manner that a first mask layer is formed of the same material as the first insulating film on the second insulating film, and after a second mask layer is formed thereon, a wiring groove pattern is formed in the second mask layer, and further, after a third mask layer is formed of the same material as the first mask layer thereon, a connection hole pattern is formed to extend through the third mask layer and the first mask layer.

12 Jul 2002TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose an approach where a hash function and a service key are stored in advance in an EEPROM of a DVD player serving as a source in order to prevent information from being copied illegally.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus and an information processing method capable of preventing information from being copied illegally. where a hash function and a service key are stored in advance in an EEPROM of a DVD player serving as a source. In an BEPROM of a personal computer (PC) serving as a sink, on the other hand, its ID and a license key are stored beforehand. The DVD player requests the PC to transmit the ID. The DVD player then applies the hash function to data resulting from concatenation of the lID with the service key to generate a license key (=hash (ID ∥service_key)). Subsequently, the DVD player generates a source side common session key and encrypts the session key by using the generated license key. Then, the DVD player transmits the encrypted source side common session key to the PC. The PC decrypts the encrypted source side common session key by using the license key stored in its EEPROM to produce a sink side common session key which has a value equal to that of the source side common session key.

29 Mar 1995TL;DR: In this paper, a cable box is used for transferring information to and from a host processor, and a second controller for controlling the signal transfer to or from the interface, the second memory and the information terminal unit.
Abstract: An information terminal apparatus capable of ensuring enhanced operational facility and realizing easier maintenance of software required for a variety of services. The terminal apparatus includes an external information input port for receiving external software transmitted thereto by radio waves; a first memory for storing the software received by the external information input port; a first controller operated in accordance with the execution of the software stored in the first memory; a console for inputting predetermined data in conformity with the execution of the software; and a display for visually representing various kinds of information in conformity with the execution of the software. The software is obtained via a cable box for transferring a signal to or from the information terminal unit. The cable box includes an interface for transferring information to and from a host processor; a second memory for storing the software transmitted thereto from the host processor; and a second controller for controlling the signal transfer to or from the interface, the second memory and the information terminal unit.

13 Jun 2000TL;DR: In this article, a technique is disclosed which makes it possible to easily control access to personal information of a user, such as a name, telephone number, address, and electronic mail address of each user.
Abstract: A technique is disclosed which makes it possible to easily control access to personal information of a user A management server stores personal information such as a name, telephone number, address, and electronic mail address of each user For example, if a user of a computer transmits a request command to the management server to transmit personal information of a user of a portable telephone device, the management server determines, in accordance with access restriction information, whether or not providing of the personal information of the user of the portable telephone is restricted If the providing of the personal information requested by the user of the computer is restricted, the management server inquires of the user of the portable telephone device, who is the owner of the personal information, whether to give permission to provide the personal information If permission is given, the management server provides the personal information to the user of the computer

11 Dec 1996TL;DR: In this article, the position of detection measurement frame having a feature pattern with the largest similarity to the standard feature pattern obtained from the standard measurement frame is determined and an imaging condition of a television camera is controlled on the basis of the position information of the detection measurement frames in order to attain a video camera system enabling to suitably track the object motion.
Abstract: A video camera system can suitably track a moving object without influence of other objects outside the desired image. Detection feature patterns are formed after brightness and hue frequency feature data are obtained on the basis of image information of the detection measurement frame. The position of detection measurement frame having a feature pattern with the largest similarity to the standard feature pattern obtained from the standard measurement frame is determined. An imaging condition of a television camera is controlled on the basis of the position information of the detection measurement frame in order to attain a video camera system enabling to suitably track the object motion. Further, a video camera system can obtain a face image of constantly a same size with a simple construction. An area of the face image on the display plane is detected as the detected face area, and by comparing this with a standard face area, zooming-processing is performed such that the difference becomes 0. Thus, it is unnecessary to use the method of a distance sensor, etc., and a video camera system with a simple construction can be obtained.
