25 Dec 2003TL;DR: In this article, the power consumption of a disk drive for hard disks, optical disks, or the like can be reliably and sufficiently reduced by changing the state of control on the disk drive.
Abstract: Information processing equipment is so constructed that the power consumption of a disk drive for hard disks, optical disks, or the like can be reliably and sufficiently reduced. The host CPU ( 120 ) of an information processing unit ( 100 ) forms a command for changing the power consumption mode of a HDD ( 200 ) based on the state of control on the HDD ( 200 ). The host CPU supplies the command to the HDD ( 200 ) through a media controller ( 106 ). When the HDD ( 200 ) accepts the command, it changes its power consumption mode according to the instruction from the information processing unit. Thus, the information processing unit can control the power consumption mode of the HDD ( 200 ) based on the state of control on the HDD ( 200 ).

17 Feb 2012TL;DR: In this paper, an image processing apparatus includes an intermediate image generating unit configured to input an image which has been shot with differing exposure times set by region, generates a plurality of exposure pattern images corresponding to different exposure times based on the input image, and generates a multiplicity of timing images which are difference images of the plurality of image pattern images.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an intermediate image generating unit configured to input an image which has been shot with differing exposure times set by region, generates a plurality of exposure pattern images corresponding to differing exposure times based on the input image, and generates a plurality of timing images which are difference images of the plurality of exposure pattern images; and a distortion correction processing unit configured to generate a corrected image equivalent to an exposure processing image at a predetermined exposure time by synthesizing processing of the plurality of timing images.

28 Aug 2006TL;DR: In this article, a head-mounted motion capture system is used to capture and process facial motion data, which includes coupling a plurality of sensors to target points on a facial surface of an actor.
Abstract: Capturing and processing facial motion data includes: coupling a plurality of sensors to target points on a facial surface of an actor; capturing frame by frame images of the plurality of sensors disposed on the facial surface of the actor using at least one motion capture camera disposed on a head-mounted system; performing, in the head-mounted system, a tracking function on the frame by frame images of the plurality of sensors to accurately map the plurality of sensors for each frame; and generating, in the head-mounted system, a modeled surface representing the facial surface of the actor.

06 Dec 1998TL;DR: In this paper, a novel 6T-SRAM cell layout designed with rectangular patterns has been developed, which provides minimum cell size and the smallest bit line capacitance with word transistor width over 0.75 /spl mu/m for the ultra high speed operation.
Abstract: A novel 6T-SRAM cell layout designed with rectangular patterns has been developed. Employing this layout, 4.13 /spl mu/m/sup 2/ and 5.33 /spl mu/m/sup 2/ cells with word transistor width of 0.25 /spl mu/m and 0.75 /spl mu/m are obtained, respectively, based on the 0.20 /spl mu/m rule. Among the various layouts of 6T-SRAM cells, this layout provides minimum cell size and the smallest bit line capacitance with word transistor width over 0.75 /spl mu/m for the ultra high speed operation. It is also demonstrated quantitatively that the optimized SRAM cell layout for high speed use is different from that for low power use. The cell layout proposed also provides the excellent scalability beyond 0.18 /spl mu/m generation due to its highly simplified pattern design.

02 Apr 1999TL;DR: In this article, an editing apparatus for creating an edit decision list by combining a plurality of video materials and/or audio materials in a sequence desired by an operator is presented, where indicator marks are displayed with lengths corresponding to the lengths of specified audio or video material or clips, at positions along a time line.
Abstract: An editing apparatus for creating an edit decision list by combining a plurality of video materials and/or audio materials in a sequence desired by an operator. Indicator marks are displayed with lengths corresponding to the lengths of specified audio and/or video material or clips, at positions along a time line. An additional indicator mark is displayed at a position specified along the time line corresponding to the amount of inputted textual data that is to be read by an announcer in conjunction with the displayed clips. An operator may create the edit decision list by visual comparison of the audio and/or video indicator marks with the indicator marks for the textual data.
