TL;DR: In this paper, a sound source information receiving apparatus includes an audio signal receiving portion to receive the audio signal from the externally connected equipment, and a playbackable sound source setting portion to determine and set the sound source type of audio signal that can be played back to a playbackability sound source.
Abstract: An audio signal receiving apparatus includes a sound source information receiving portion to receive sound source information containing sound source type information indicating a sound source type of the audio signal being transmitted through channels and externally connected equipment playback sound source information indicating a sound source type of the audio signal being played back by the externally connected equipment from externally connected equipment, an audio signal receiving portion to receive the audio signal from the externally connected equipment, and a playbackable sound source setting portion to determine and set a sound source type of the audio signal that can played back to a playbackable sound source based on the sound source information. The playbackable sound source setting portion sets a sound source type of the audio signal being played back by the externally connected equipment to the playbackable sound source as an externally connected equipment playback sound source.

TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus, program product and method personalize an on-line interface by identifying and tracking a computing environment of a user so that on-online content is tailored to the subjective preferences of the user, in addition, the computing environment advantageously includes objectively distinguishable factors such as one or more of preference settings, cookies (i.e., previously viewed web sites), time/date, location, navigation click stream, autonomic reaction to viewed online content and type of computer platform.
Abstract: An apparatus, program product and method personalize an on-line interface by identifying and tracking a computing environment of a user so that on-line content is tailored to the subjective preferences of the user. In addition, the computing environment advantageously includes objectively distinguishable factors such as one or more of preference settings, cookies (i.e., previously viewed web sites), time/date, location, navigation click stream, autonomic reaction to viewed on-line content and type of computer platform. Thus, one or more usage profile records for each user may be maintained, each tailored for the computing environment and user's subjective preferences when in that computing environment.

A coding apparatus 1 comprises three convolutional coders 10, 30 and 50 for carrying out convolutional operation; two interleavers 20 and 40 for rearranging order of data input; and a multi-value mapping circuit 60 for carrying out mapping of a single point on the basis of a predetermined modulation system. The coding apparatus 1 carries out convolutional operation whose code rate is “⅔” as coding of extrinsic codes by a convolutional coder 10, and carries out convolutional operation whose code rate is “1” as coding of inner codes by a convolutional coder 50, and a multi-value modulation mapping circuit 60 applies mapping to a transmission symbol of a 8 PSK modulation system to output it as a single code transmission symbol.

TL;DR: In this article, an optical-electronic integrated circuit device capable of three dimensions transmitting optical signals between semiconductor substrates on each of which an integrated circuit is previously formed is presented.
Abstract: An optical-electronic integrated circuit device capable of three-dimensionally transmitting optical signals between plural semiconductor substrates on each of which an integrated circuit is previously formed. At least one of the light emitting elements and the light receiving elements are formed on the semiconductor substrate which transmits the light propagated between these elements. In this manner, signals may be transmitted in a direction perpendicular to the semiconductor substrate even without specifically processing the semiconductor substrate. Additionally, signal distortion, transmission losses, mutual intervention or delay are not incurred. For two-dimensionally connecting plural three-dimensionally integrated optical-electronic integrated circuit devices in a direction parallel to the semiconductor substrates, the circuit devices are arrayed on an optical interconnection base plate, and light signals are transmitted by means of a pair of inclined surfaces which are formed on the optical interconnection base plate and which are arranged facing the light emitting element and the light receiving element, and the light waveguide channels defined between these inclined surfaces. This drastically increases the operating speed of the circuit device and the integration degree.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for entering information through biometric identifiers is described, which allows a user to create, edit, and store profile information including secure data and corresponding identifiers.
Abstract: A system and method for viewing, entering, and editing information. A system and method for entering information through biometric identifiers are described. The invention allows a user to create, edit, and store profile information including secure data and corresponding biometric identifiers. In one embodiment, the invention includes an input module for receiving a biometric input from the user; a matching module coupled to the input module for comparing the biometric input to a plurality of stored biometric identifiers; and an output module coupled to the matching module for outputting a secure data corresponding with one of the plurality of the stored biometric identifiers in response to the biometric input.
