TL;DR: In this article, a carousel-type display of icons representing user-defined favorites is overlaid on the current background video of the TV, with the centermost icon being the 'current' icon and being enlarged relative to the other icons.
Abstract: A favorites GUI for a TV (12) includes a carousel-type display of icons (46) representing user-defined favorites that is overlaid on the current background video of the TV (12), with the center-most icon (46) being the 'current' icon (46) and being enlarged relative to the other icons (46). Live video appears in icons (46) representing TV channels. Other icons (46) can represent, e.g., favorite photo/music files, favorite games from a game console, favorite content from an ambient player, etc.

TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus comprising a memory storing instructions is provided, which includes a control unit for executing the instructions to send signals to display, for a user, a first virtual image superimposed onto a representation of real space.
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a memory storing instructions is provided. The apparatus includes a control unit for executing the instructions to send signals to display, for a user, a first virtual image superimposed onto a representation of real space. The control unit further executes instructions to send signals to identify a potential source of interest for the user, the potential source of interest being outside of a user focus area in the representation of real space. The control unit further executes instructions to send signals to notify the user of the potential source of interest.

TL;DR: In this paper, a converged system architecture and method for converging a personal computer with audio/video devices is provided, where wireless communications are transmitted between the personal computer and the audio and video devices.
Abstract: A converged system architecture and method for converging a personal computer with audio/video devices is provided. Wireless communications are transmitted between the personal computer and the audio/video devices. Wireless commands for controlling the audio/video devices are entered remotely at a wireless peripheral and coupled to the personal computer. The personal computer generates signals and the wireless communications are coupled to the audio/video devices in accordance with these signals.

TL;DR: In this article, the redundancy symbols of the outer error correction codes followed by the information data and inner error correction code are recorded at the beginning of each track, so that even if the data reproduced from the beginning portion of the tape contains error, information data is not much influenced by that error.
Abstract: In apparatus for recording and/or reproducing digital data, digital data such as video data is encoded with error correction codes including outer codes and inner codes so that respective predetermined numbers of symbols form respective blocks to be added with synchronizing data and so on, then recorded with rotary heads on slant tracks of a tape medium such as a magnetic tape. The redundancy symbols of the outer error correction code followed by the information data and inner error correction code are recorded at the beginning of each track, so that even if the data reproduced from the beginning portion of the tape contains error, the information data is not much influenced by that error.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of BaF/sub 2/ on the formation of single-phase cubic YAG and the optical performance of the resulting YAG:Tb phosphor in a projection CRT are discussed.
Abstract: The luminescence efficiency of the YAG:Tb phosphor has been improved by the application of BaF/sub 2/ flux to the firing process. Luminescence efficiency is largely determined by the single-phase crystallinity of cubic YAG:Tb. This phosphor, when used in a projection CRT, show good stability in the temperature and current dependence of brightness as well as good resistance to electron burning. The effect of BaF/sub 2/ on the formation of single-phase cubic YAG and the optical performance of the resulting YAG:Tb phosphor in a CRT are discussed.
