01 Mar 2011TL;DR: In this paper, a thin-film transistor was proposed, which has a uniform and good electric characteristic and has a simple configuration allowing decrease in number of manufacturing steps, and a method of manufacturing the thin film transistor.
Abstract: There is provided a thin film transistor, which has a uniform and good electric characteristic and has a simple configuration allowing decrease in number of manufacturing steps, and a method of manufacturing the thin film transistor, and a display device having the thin film transistor. The thin film transistor includes: a gate electrode; an oxide semiconductor film having a multilayer structure of an amorphous film and a crystallized film; and a source electrode and a drain electrode provided to contact the crystallized film.

15 Nov 2012TL;DR: In this paper, an image display apparatus includes an image forming device having pixels; a collimating optical system collimating light from the image forming devices; and an optical device receiving, guiding, and outputting the collimated light as directional rays in different directions.
Abstract: An image display apparatus includes an image forming device having pixels; a collimating optical system collimating light from the image forming device; and an optical device receiving, guiding, and outputting the collimated light as directional rays in different directions. The optical device includes a light-guiding plate; a first optical member reflecting or diffracting the light so as to totally reflect the light inside the light-guiding plate; and a second optical member causing the propagated light to emerge from the light-guiding plate. When a light ray emitted from a pixel located farthest from the center of the image forming device and a light ray emitted from a pixel located at the center of the image forming device pass through a front nodal point of the collimating optical system and are respectively incident on the collimating optical system and the light-guiding plate at angles θ1 and θ2, θ2>θ1 is satisfied.

01 Oct 2004TL;DR: In this article, a license holder acquires protected content and an original digital license to the protected content from a content provider system, and in turn delegates all or part of the grants in that original license to other qualified devices or clients.
Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling the distribution of digital content are provided. A license holder acquires protected content and an original digital license to the protected content from a content provider system. The license holder in turn delegates all or part of the grants in that original license to other qualified devices or clients. The content remains in its original, protected or encrypted form while it is delivered from the license holder to the client along with a digital sublicense that the client receives from the original license holder, whereupon the content can then be rendered. The original digital license defines or governs the conditions under which such delegation occurs, and includes terms under which such delegation is permitted to continue in order to enforce the intent of the content provider.

29 Sep 1997TL;DR: In this article, the user can select a desired 3D virtual reality space by clicking on a desired three-dimensional icon and the corresponding 3D VR space is displayed when the user clicks on the desired icon.
Abstract: To allow the user who wants to use three-dimensional virtual reality spaces to easily select a desired three-dimensional virtual reality space. When the browser is started with data about a three-dimensional virtual reality space stored in a predetermined directory, this predetermined directory is searched. According to the search result, an entry room in which three-dimensional icons representing three-dimensional virtual reality spaces are arranged is generated and displayed. The three-dimensional icons arranged in the entry room are linked to the data of the corresponding three-dimensional virtual reality spaces. When user clicks on a desired three-dimensional icon, the corresponding three-dimensional virtual reality space is displayed.

13 May 1997TL;DR: In this article, a technique for selectively inhibiting a video recorder from recording and/or reproducing those television programs, which are not authorized for viewing on the viewing device, is presented.
Abstract: A technique for selectively inhibiting a video recorder (7) from recording and/or reproducing those television programs, which are not authorized for viewing on the viewing device (8). Authorization data associated with respective television programs that are receivable by the recorder (7) and indication of whether that program is authorized for recording and/or reproduction, is received by the recorder (7) or to (or multiplexed with) the television program and is stored thereat. When the television program is received at the receiver (6) and the recorder (7), the stored authorization data associated with that is read to determine if the received television program is authorized for recording and/or reproduction. If not, the recorder is inhibited from recording and/or reproducing that unauthorized television program.
