TL;DR: In this article, a display system including a central processing unit (CPU) is coupled through appropriate input/output (I/O) circuitry to input devices, such as a keyboard, digital pad and/or track ball as well as a display device.
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus and methods for a multi-dimensional user interface for use in audio visual production. A display system including a central processing unit (CPU) is coupled through appropriate input/output (I/O) circuitry to input devices, such as a keyboard, digital pad and/or track ball as well as a display device. The CPU is further coupled to a hard disk drive for the storage of programs and data, and is also coupled to a network through which the CPU may communicate with a variety of system resource devices such as editors, music synthesizers, graphics generators, scheduling resources, audio enhancement resources, etc. A user viewing the interface on the display may utilize one of the input devices, such as by way of example, the keyboard, to select, incorporate or otherwise integrate the various system resources to develop a unified multi-media production. The user interface of the present invention includes a control frame which in practice substantially fills all of the display screen of the display and is consistent for all user applications. The control frame is comprised of control panels which surround a variety of subwindows and acts as a consistent control area for all users of the interface. Once defined, elements may be selectively placed on an event horizon bar in the control frame. The placement of an element on the event horizon results in the display of timing data for the element, relative to other elements on the event horizon.

TL;DR: In this article, a switching power-supply circuit consisting of rectifying and smoothing means for generating a rectified and smoothed voltage and outputting the rectified voltage as a direct-current input voltage was proposed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a switching power-supply circuit comprising: rectifying and smoothing means for generating a rectified and smoothed voltage and outputting the rectified and smoothed voltage as a direct-current input voltage; an insulating converter transformer for transferring a primary-side output to a secondary side; switching means for intermittently passing on the direct-current input voltage to a primary winding of the insulating converter transformer; a primary-side resonance circuit for actuating the switching means in a voltage resonance mode; power-factor improvement means for improving a power factor by generating intermittently a rectified current based on the fed-back switching output voltage; a secondary-side resonance circuit on a secondary side of the insulating converter transformer; direct-current output voltage generation means carrying out a rectification operation in order to generate a secondary-side direct-current output voltage; and constant-voltage control means for executing constant-voltage control on the secondary-side direct-current output voltage.

TL;DR: The simplicity of the synthetic process offers a viable route for the large-scale production of SWNTs with controlled doping states and promises to push the performance limit of these materials for molecular electronics.
Abstract: Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have strong potential for molecular electronics, owing to their unique structural and electronic properties. However, various outstanding issues still need to be resolved before SWNT-based devices can be made. In particular, large-scale, air-stable and controlled doping is highly desirable. Here we present a method for integrating organic molecules into SWNTs that promises to push the performance limit of these materials for molecular electronics. Reaction of SWNTs with molecules having large electron affinity and small ionization energy achieved p- and n-type doping, respectively. Optical characterization revealed that charge transfer between SWNTs and molecules starts at certain critical energies. X-ray diffraction experiments revealed that molecules are predominantly encapsulated inside SWNTs, resulting in an improved stability in air. The simplicity of the synthetic process offers a viable route for the large-scale production of SWNTs with controlled doping states.
