TL;DR: This work proposes two new families of homogeneous HOSM controllers of a very simple form, one of which consists of quasi-continuous controllers, which can be done arbitrarily smooth everywhere outside of the HosM manifold.

TL;DR: The upper bounds on achievable rates of MF and RZF with 11M are investigated, which are related to the statistics of the circuit gains of the mismatched hardware.
Abstract: This paper studies the impact of hardware mismatch (HM) between the base station (BS) and the user equipment (UE) in the downlink (DL) of large-scale antenna systems. Analytical expressions to predict the achievable rates are derived for different precoding methods, i.e., matched filter (MF) and regularized zero-forcing (RZF), using large system analysis techniques. Furthermore, the upper bounds on achievable rates of MF and RZF with HM are investigated, which are related to the statistics of the circuit gains of the mismatched hardware. Moreover, we present a study of HM calibration, where we take zero-forcing (ZF) precoding as an example to compare two HM calibration schemes, i.e., Pre-precoding Calibration (Pre-Cal) and Post-precoding Calibration (Post-Cal). The analysis shows that Pre-Cal outperforms Post-Cal schemes. Monte-Carlo simulations are carried out, and numerical results demonstrate the correctness of the analysis.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new compound method was proposed to extract the five parameters of the five-parameter photovoltaic model with the basic manufacture template data, where the two differential values at the short and open circuit points of the I-V curve at standard testing conditions (STC) are fundamental data to obtain the five parameter and not normally available from the template data.

TL;DR: In this article, a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind energy system interconnected with a series compensated electric network is modeled in Matlab/Simulink.
Abstract: Interests of subsynchronous resonance (SSR) in series compensated electric networks with wind power penetration have arisen recently. To better understand the nature of such systems, modal analysis of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind energy system interconnected with a series compensated electric network is conducted in this paper. The system model is built in Matlab/Simulink. The major contributions of the paper include: 1) identification of the four system modes (SSR, supersynchronous, electromechanical, and shaft modes) of a DFIG-based wind farm interfaced with a series compensated network, 2) investigation of the impacts of various parameters and operating conditions on those modes, and 3) prediction of the dynamic performance of the system using modal analysis and confirmation of such prediction via time-domain simulation results.

TL;DR: Normal physiological differences in long-term cortisol secretion, as assessed in hair, show relevant relationships with MetS and individual cardiometabolic parameters.
Abstract: Context: Although exposure to supraphysiological levels of glucocorticoids is known to contribute to the development of the metabolic syndrome (MetS), the importance of physiological variation in basal cortisol secretion is less clear. This issue can be addressed by using hair cortisol analysis, which for the first time allows the assessment of long-term integrated hormone levels. Objective and Design: We used the analysis of cortisol in hair (hairF) to examine associations of long-term cortisol levels with prevalence of MetS and individual cardiometabolic parameters in a large occupational cohort. In additional exploratory analyses, we also studied cardiometabolic associations with hair cortisone levels. Participants: Participants included 1258 employees of a large aerospace company (aged 16–64 years; 84.8% males) who partook in a voluntary health assessment. Main Outcome Measures: The first 3 cm of scalp-near hair were analyzed for glucocorticoid concentrations using liquid chromatography tandem mass sp...
