TL;DR: In this paper, the hydration processes of high-volume fly ash cement paste were investigated by examining the non-evaporable water content, the CH content, pH of pore solution and the fraction of reacted fly ash, curing at either 20°c or elevated temperatures after an initial curing at 20°C.
Abstract: The hydration processes of high-volume fly ash cement paste were investigated by examining the non-evaporable water content, the CH content, the pH of pore solution and the fraction of reacted fly ash, curing at either 20°C or elevated temperatures after an initial curing at 20°C. The replacement percentage levels of fly ash were 40%, 50% and 60% by weight, respectively. The results revealed that the non-evaporable water content in high-volume fly ash cement pastes does not develop as plain cement pastes does, so it may be improper to apply the non-evaporable water content to evaluate the hydration process in high-volume fly ash cement matrix. The reduction in CH content increases with the progressing of hydration process and varies linearly with the logarithm of curing age. The addition of 3.0% of Na2SO4 could accelerate the pozzolanic reaction of fly ash at early ages. At 20°C, the pH of pore solution of high-volume fly ash cement paste was reduced to a great extent at early ages and it continued to decline at later ages due to the inclusion of large amount of fly ashes. At elevated temperatures, however, this trend was not found. The fraction of reacted fly ash directly reflects the pozzolanic reactivity of fly ash both at normal and elevated temperatures. There is some inherent correlation between the reduction in CH content, the pH of pore solution and the fraction of reacted fly ash. For specified matrix, the consumption of CH and the pH of pore solutions change linearly with the increase of the fraction of reacted fly ash.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that moderate ROS levels can promote autophagy to recycle damaged cellular constituents and maintain cellular homeostasis, while the induction of Autophagy can inhibit apoptosis and protect the HCs by suppressing ROS accumulation after aminoglycoside injury.
Abstract: Aminoglycosides are toxic to sensory hair cells (HCs). Macroautophagy/autophagy is an essential and highly conserved self-digestion pathway that plays important roles in the maintenance of cellular function and viability under stress. However, the role of autophagy in aminoglycoside-induced HC injury is unknown. Here, we first found that autophagy activity was significantly increased, including enhanced autophagosome-lysosome fusion, in both cochlear HCs and HEI-OC-1 cells after neomycin or gentamicin injury, suggesting that autophagy might be correlated with aminoglycoside-induced cell death. We then used rapamycin, an autophagy activator, to increase the autophagy activity and found that the ROS levels, apoptosis, and cell death were significantly decreased after neomycin or gentamicin injury. In contrast, treatment with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine (3-MA) or knockdown of autophagy-related (ATG) proteins resulted in reduced autophagy activity and significantly increased ROS levels, ap...

TL;DR: A new, highly reconfigurable system architecture for 5G cellular user equipment, namely distributed phased arrays based MIMO (DPA-MIMO) is proposed and the link budget calculation and data throughput numerical results are presented for the evaluation of the proposed architecture.
Abstract: Research and development on the next generation wireless systems, namely 5G, has experienced explosive growth in recent years. In the physical layer, the massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technique and the use of high GHz frequency bands are two promising trends for adoption. Millimeter-wave (mmWave) bands, such as 28, 38, 64, and 71 GHz, which were previously considered not suitable for commercial cellular networks, will play an important role in 5G. Currently, most 5G research deals with the algorithms and implementations of modulation and coding schemes, new spatial signal processing technologies, new spectrum opportunities, channel modeling, 5G proof of concept systems, and other system-level enabling technologies. In this paper, we first investigate the contemporary wireless user equipment (UE) hardware design, and unveil the critical 5G UE hardware design constraints on circuits and systems. On top of the said investigation and design tradeoff analysis, a new, highly reconfigurable system architecture for 5G cellular user equipment, namely distributed phased arrays based MIMO (DPA-MIMO) is proposed. Finally, the link budget calculation and data throughput numerical results are presented for the evaluation of the proposed architecture.

Abstract: However, there are still several defi ciencies of current GQDs. The hydrothermal cutting mechanism of the GO precursor is not clear, and as a result, different lateral size were reported from several nanometers to a few tens of nanometers. [ 10 ] The doping mode (lattice doping, edge doping, or just chemical nitrogen-containing bonds) was not verifi ed clearly although different doping elements and concentrations were reported.
