TL;DR: It is demonstrated that overexpression of ATMGT1 encoding a magnesium transport protein can improve tolerance to Al in higher plants.
Abstract: Aluminium (Al) toxicity is the most important limiting factor for crop production in acid soil environments worldwide. In some plant species, application of magnesium (Mg 2+ ) can alleviate Al toxicity. However, it remains unknown whether overexpression of magnesium transport proteins can improve Al tolerance. Here, the role ofAtMGT1, a member of the Arabidopsis magnesium transport family involved in Mg 2+ transport, played in Al tolerance in higher plants was investigated. Expression of 35S::AtMGT1 led to various phenotypic alterations in Nicotiana benthamiana plants. Transgenic plants harbouring 35S::AtMGT1 exhibited tolerance to Mg 2+ deficiency. Element assay showed that the contents of Mg, Mn, and Fe in 35S::AtMGT1 plants increased compared with wild-type plants. Root growth experiment revealed that 100 mM AlCl3 caused a reduction in root elongation by 47% in transgenic lines, whereas root growth in wild-type plants was inhibited completely. Upon Al treatment, representative transgenic lines also showed a much lower callose deposition, an indicator of increased Al tolerance, than wild-type plants. Taken together, the results have demonstrated that overexpression of ATMGT1 encoding a magnesium transport protein can improve tolerance to Al in higher plants.

TL;DR: A novel belief entropy-based method with regard to D numbers is proposed for M CDM problems and an application in the MCDM problem is illustrated to reveal the efficiency of the proposed method.
Abstract: Multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) is an important branch of operations research which judges multiple criteria under decision-making environments. In the process of handling MCDM problems, because of the subjective judgment of human beings, it unavoidably involves a variety of uncertainties, like imprecision, fuzziness and incompleteness. The D numbers, as a reliable and effective expression of uncertain information, has a good performance to handle these types of uncertainties. However, there still are some spaces to be further researched. Therefore, a novel belief entropy-based method with regard to D numbers is proposed for MCDM problems. Finally, an application in the MCDM problem is illustrated to reveal the efficiency of the proposed method.

TL;DR: The Ni-MoS2 monolayer might be a promising gas adsorbent for the fault recovery of SF6-insulated equipment and the interaction between SO2, H2S, and the Ni- MoS2 surface belongs to chemisorption.
Abstract: In this paper, a Ni-doped MoS₂ monolayer (Ni-MoS₂) has been proposed as a novel gas adsorbent to be used in SF₆-insulated equipment. Based on the first-principles calculation, the adsorption properties of Ni-MoS₂ to SO₂ and H₂S molecules, the main decomposition components of SF₆ under a partial discharge (PD) condition have been studied. The adsorption energy, charge transfer, and structural parameters have been analyzed to find the most stable gas-adsorbed Ni-MoS₂. Furthermore, the density of states (DOS), projected density of states (PDOS), and electron density difference were employed to explore the interaction mechanism between SO₂, H₂S, and the Ni-MoS₂ surface. It is found that the H₂S molecule and SO₂ molecule interact with the Ni-MoS₂ surface by strong adsorption energy. Therefore, we conclude that the interaction between these two kinds of gases and the Ni-MoS₂ monolayer belongs to chemisorption, and the Ni-MoS₂ monolayer might be a promising gas adsorbent for the fault recovery of SF₆-insulated equipment. Additionally, we have to point out that all of the conclusions only considered the final adsorption energy, the barrier in the transition state has not been analyzed in this paper.
