TL;DR: In this paper, a Monte-Carlo simulation code dedicated to heavy ion cross-section prediction is developed based on diffusion-collection equations, taking into account recombination processes, uses an improved drain strike model, and includes new upset analysis algorithms for different circuit architectures.
Abstract: A proprietary Monte-Carlo simulation code dedicated to heavy ion cross-section prediction has been developed. The code is based on diffusion-collection equations, takes into account recombination processes, uses an improved drain strike model, and includes new upset analysis algorithms for different circuit architectures. Simulated cross-sections are compared to heavy ion experimental characterizations for commercial bulk 65-nm single- and dual-port SRAMs. Simulation capabilities of much more complex circuits are demonstrated considering a 65-nm radiation-hardened-by-design (RHBD) Flip-Flop (FF).

TL;DR: In this paper, a method called cognitive dynamic frequency hopping that is based on the selective simultaneous sensing and data transmission (SISO) is described. And the proposed method satisfies both reliable and timely RF sensing for guaranteeing licensed user protection and QoS satisfaction.
Abstract: This invention relates to cognitive radio based wireless communications of dynamic spectrum access networks, and more particularly to a method of addressing radio frequency sensing control and dynamic frequency selection control. A method called Cognitive Dynamic Frequency Hopping that is based on the selective Simultaneous Sensing and Data Transmissions is described. The Cognitive Dynamic Frequency Hopping method is further facilitated by a collision avoidance technique. The described method satisfies both reliable and timely RF sensing for guaranteeing licensed user protection, and QoS satisfaction for services of the dynamic spectrum access systems.

TL;DR: In this paper, the shape of the resulting PWM driving signal will include additional PWM pulses during the transitioning period that provide for a trapezoidal shaping of the current supplied to each of the phase coils in the motor.
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for use in driving a multiple-phase brushless motor. The methods and apparatuses include generating a slewed phase control signal for each phase of the motor. The slewed phase control signals are substantially proportional to a speed control signal during non-transitioning periods, and are slewed from one state to the next state over time during transitioning periods. The transitioning periods being associated with a commutation point. The slewed phase control signals are used to generate pulse width modulated (PWM) driving signals, for each phase of the motor. Thus, the shape of the resulting PWM driving signal will include additional PWM pulses during the transitioning period that provide for a trapezoidal shaping of the current supplied to each of the phase coils in the motor. The result is that torque ripple is reduced because the overall current applied to the motor and the torque resulting therefrom will tend to be more constant during commutation.

TL;DR: In this article, a subpixel interpolator includes an input memory capable of storing video information formed from full pixels, half-pixels, and quarterpixels in addition to an output memory with the capability of storing at least some of the full pixels.
Abstract: A subpixel interpolator includes an input memory capable of storing video information formed from full pixels. The subpixel interpolator also includes at least one interpolation unit capable of performing subpixel interpolation to generate half-pixels and quarter-pixels in parallel. Multiple half-pixels and multiple quarter-pixels are generated concurrently during the subpixel interpolation. In addition, the subpixel interpolator includes an output memory capable of storing at least some of the full pixels, half-pixels, and quarter-pixels. In some embodiments, the at least one interpolation unit includes a horizontal half-pixel interpolation unit, two vertical half-pixel interpolation units, and a quarter-pixel interpolation unit, all of which may operate in parallel. In particular embodiments, the interpolation units are formed from adders and shifters and do not include any multipliers.

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated microelectromechanical structure is provided with a driving mass, anchored to a substrate via elastic anchorage elements and designed to be actuated in a plane with the driving movement; and a first sensing mass and a second sensing mass, suspended within, and coupled to, the driving mass via respective elastic supporting elements so as to be fixed with respect to the angular velocity.
Abstract: An integrated microelectromechanical structure is provided with a driving mass, anchored to a substrate via elastic anchorage elements and designed to be actuated in a plane with a driving movement; and a first sensing mass and a second sensing mass, suspended within, and coupled to, the driving mass via respective elastic supporting elements so as to be fixed with respect thereto in said driving movement and to perform a respective detection movement in response to an angular velocity. In particular, the first and the second sensing masses are connected together via elastic coupling elements, configured to couple their modes of vibration.
