TL;DR: In this article, a study of the kinetics of formation and microstructure of aluminide coatings on Ni-Cr alloys has been made, where a parabolic growth rate law was observed for most of the runs, except for slight deviations in low activity packs run at low temperature.

TL;DR: In this paper, a set of tuning characteristic curves has been obtained in good agreement with the experimental results for optically pumped HF FIR lasers given by A. de Martino et al. The signal flow graph method was used to solve the density matrix equations.
Abstract: Tunable properties of optically pumped FIR lasers have been studied on the basis of sixlevel quantum system approach. The signal flow graph method was used to solve the density matrix equations. A set of tuning characteristic curves has been obtained in good agreement with the experimental results for optically pumped HF FIR lasers given by A. de Martino et al.

TL;DR: It is suggested that the hypotensive effect of dehydroevodiamine may be mediated through prostaglandin synthesis and abolished partly by indomethacin and more completely, polyphoretin phosphate.
Abstract: Dehydroevodiamine isolated from Evodiae Fructus lowered blood pressure with bradycardia in anesthetised rats. At a cumulative dose of 22.5mg/kg/30min, there was a very significant decrease in blood pressure and heart rate. There was a more important decrease in diastolic pressure than systolic pressure, implying a vasodilatory effect. The hypotensive effect of dehydroevodiamine can be abolished partly by indomethacin and more completely, polyphoretin phosphate. It is suggested that the hypotensive effect of dehydroevodiamine may be mediated through prostaglandin synthesis. A similar action mechanism in dehydroevodiamine-stimulated rat uterus contraction is also discussed.

TL;DR: An optimal control problem involving a class of first order hyperbolic systems with boundary controls is considered and a computational algorithm which generates minimizing sequences of controls is devised and the convergence properties of the algorithm are investigated.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider an optimal control problem involving a class of first order hyperbolic systems with boundary controls A computational algorithm which generates minimizing sequences of controls is devised and the convergence properties of the algorithm are investigated Moreover, a necessary and sufficient condition for optimality is derived and a result on the existence of optimal controls is obtained

TL;DR: In this paper, a method using linear combinations of successive eigenvectors based on energy minimization is presented for converging self-consistent field iterations, applied to a number of divergent or poorly convergent examples in semi-empirical CNDO, INDO, and ab initio STO-3G calculations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the slow modulation of the interfacial capillary is investigated by using the method of multiple scales, and the evolution of a packet is described by the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, and then the stability of the Stokes wave train is discussed.
Abstract: The slow modulation of the interfacial capillary — gravity waves of two superposed fluids with uniform depths and solid walls is investigated by using the method of multiple scales. The evolution of a packet is described by the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, and then the stability of the so-called Stokes wave train is discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, a class of optimal control problems involving hyperbolic partial differential equations with Darboux boundary conditions was considered. But the results on the existence theorem for this class of problems were not investigated.
Abstract: In this thesis, we consider a class of optimal control problems involving hyperbolic partial differential equations with Darboux boundary conditions. This class of problems was reported in [2] and later on studied extensively by Suryanarayana [4, 5, 6, 7] using the approaches suggested by Cesari [3], They investigated questions concerning necessary condition for optimality and existence of optimal controls. Note that a different result on the existence theorem for this class of optimal control problems was also obtained by Ahmed and Teo [7].

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of polymerization on the fluorescence lifetime of eosin in water using the ultrafast optical gate technique was investigated and it was shown that polymers can significantly decrease the lifetime of fluorescence.
Abstract: It is known that the fluorescence lifetime and the quantum yield of some organic compound solutions decrease as the solution concentration increases and this phenomenon has been attributed to the interaction of the excited molecules with the nonexcited molecules of the same kind and the formation of polymers.(l)–(4) We report further study of the effect of polymerization on the fluorescence lifetime of eosin in water using the ultrafast optical gate technique to measure the fluorescence lifetime of this solution in various concentrations and various temperatures.
