TL;DR: Elevated levels of alkali‐resistant (fetal) hemoglobin were found in patients with cancer, in the absence of any overt hematologic disorders, and appears to reflect tumor burden and activity of disease.
Abstract: Elevated levels of alkali-resistant (fetal) hemoglobin were found in patients with cancer, in the absence of any overt hematologic disorders. This phenomenon was observed most frequently in patients with gonadal tumors and appears to reflect tumor burden and activity of disease.
