TL;DR: DCE US provides reproducible and sensitive assessment of vascular changes in response to antiangiogenic therapy and could not be used to predict long-term assessment of best response by using RECIST.
Abstract: The study showed that vascular response of renal cell carcinoma tumors to antiangiogenic treatment can be assessed reproducibly at an early stage by using dynamic contrast-enhanced US combined with a continuous infusion of perflutren lipid microspheres.

TL;DR: There are ways to improve assessment of cohort studies for patients with coronavirus disease (COVID-19), particularly the most critically ill who are receiving mechanical ventilation.
Abstract: The world is scrutinizing every cohort and every outcome for patients with coronavirus disease (COVID-19), particularly the most critically ill who are receiving mechanical ventilation. The numbers that have been published are all over the place, and some of them—such as very high mortality—are causing panic. Two major issues are at play in these epidemiological studies. The first is when to intubate and assessment of the rates of intubation and mechanical ventilation for hospitalized patients in cohorts from across the world. The second is the reported mortality for patients who receive mechanical ventilation. Presentation and interpretation of the data for both of these issues is not straightforward and never has been. However, there are ways we can improve assessment of these cohort studies.

TL;DR: An association between coagulopathy, diagnosed by routine laboratorial tests in the first 24 hours, with ICH progression; and I CH progression with mortality in patients with severe TBI is demonstrated.
Abstract: Background:Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) is common in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a major determinant of death and disability. ICH commonly increases in size and coagulopathy has been implicated in such progression. We investigated the association between coagulopathy diagnosed by routine labor

09 Mar 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for delivering and controlling thermal therapy to a volume of diseased tissue is presented. But the authors do not specify the specific application of the thermal imaging and other inputs.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for delivering and controlling thermal therapy to a volume of diseased tissue. Specifically, the invention includes using thermal imaging and other inputs to determine an acoustic (ultrasonic) treatment regime employing interstitial ultrasound applicators to deliver a required therapeutic temperature or thermal dose to the affected region in a body or organ. Various aspects of the treatment that can be controlled include individual transducer element operating power and frequency, as well as the rate of cooling and rotation of the entire applicator.
