TL;DR: The results confirm the evidence of multilineage blast crisis involving either single or mixed haemopoietic differentiation pathway and the utility of having phenotypic characterisation for designing protocols for chemotherapy in the CML patients at the time of blast crisis.

TL;DR: The frequency of various subtypes of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) differs in various regions worldwide, whereas a lower frequency of peripheral T-cell lymphoma – not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS) and extranodal NK/T- cell lymphoma was seen compared to that in the other Asian countries.
Abstract: The frequency of various subtypes of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) differs in various regions worldwide. We studied distribution of various subtypes of NHL by using WHO classification of lymphoid neoplasms (2000), immunophenotyping and clinicopathologic characteristics of various histologic subtypes in 935 cases. B- and T-cell NHL constituted 79.3% and 18.8% of cases. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBL) was the most common subtype (50.2%). A lower frequency of follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) was noted compared to that observed in the developed countries, whereas a lower frequency of peripheral T-cell lymphoma - not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS) and extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma was seen compared to that in the other Asian countries. A higher frequency of DLBL and precursor T-lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma was noted. Extranodal and bone marrow involvement in MCL and PTCL-NOS was less frequent. Anaplastic variant of DLBL was noted in 21.5% of all DLBLs. Null/T-cell anaplastic large cell lymphoma presented in the older age.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the override of checkpoint observed in 14-3-3γ knockdown cells is due to failure to inhibit cdc25C function.
Abstract: Checkpoint pathways inhibit mitotic progression by inducing the phosphorylation of serine 216 in cdc25C resulting in the generation of a 14-3-3 binding site on cdc25C. Two 14-3-3 isoforms, 14-3-3e and 14-3-3γ form a complex with cdc25C and inhibit cdc25C function. To examine the contribution of 14-3-3γ to checkpoint regulation, the expression of 14-3-3γ was inhibited in HCT116 cells using vector based RNA interference. A transient reduction in the expression of 14-3-3γ in HCT116 cells resulted in an override of both the incomplete S phase and the G2 DNA damage checkpoint. A 14-3-3γ knockdown clone also showed an override of both checkpoint pathways. These phenotypes were reversed upon expression of a shRNA resistant 14-3-3γ cDNA. Override of the G2 DNA damage checkpoint pathway was accompanied by a decrease in the levels of inhibitory phosphorylation on cdc25C and cdk1. However, there was no difference in the γ-H2AX foci formation and levels of phospho-chk1 and phospho-chk2, suggesting that activation of ...

TL;DR: The prognosis for persons with osteogenic sarcoma of the jaws is much better than for those with osteolithic sarcomas located in other bones, since distant metastases are relatively uncommon.

TL;DR: A series of novel quinoline-oxadiazole hybrid compounds was designed based on stepwise rational modification of the lead molecules reported previously, in order to enhance bioactivity and improve druglikeness, and several of the hits exhibited good to excellent anti-tuberculosis activity and selectivity.
