TL;DR: It was seen that A. nodosum increased blood glucose and decreased sorbitol dehydrogenase compared to controls, without any adverse effects on the other examined parameters, and may be suggested as a functional ingredient in dairy cow nutrition, improving energy utilization and expressing hepatoprotective effect.
Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of Ascophyllum nodosum , an edible brown macroalga, on some haematologic parameters of dairy cows. Nineteen clinically healthy Holstein cows, an average 4.3 years old, were divided into two groups for 49 days. Ten cows received control diet (roughages and concentrate) while the concentrate of 9 cows was additionally supplemented with 80 g A. nodosum /cow/day. Average daily milk production (controls 39.6 kg/cow; A. nodosum 40.2 kg/cow), milk protein and fat were not affected by the alga supplementation. Glucose, sorbitol dehydrogenase, haemoglobin, haematocrit and white/red blood cells were evaluated in weekly blood samples. It was seen that A. nodosum increased blood glucose and decreased sorbitol dehydrogenase compared to controls, without any adverse effects on the other examined parameters. Consequently, A. nodosum may be suggested as a functional ingredient in dairy cow nutrition, improving energy utilization and expressing hepatoprotective effect.

TL;DR: In this paper, multilayered security architecture is defined based on defense in depth, in which the cloud infrastructure is divided into defense zones to achieve better security control and a secure architecture is applied.
Abstract: Cloud Computing constitutes an emerging computing paradigm consisting of elements of grid computing, utility computing and software-defined networks. The aggregation of these technologies offers a new environment for the deployment of services. Cloud computing environment provides capabilities which are unique covering the existing and future needs of organizations and companies. Moreover, this environment supports big data applications usually forming the core elements of research projects. Therefore cloud computing technology and big data are linked to each other. However, the capabilities of cloud computing environment create challenges concerning the security of data applications and its systems. In this respect, security issues are present on big data applications. By adopting the cloud computing environment, the provider has to incorporate security systems and policies in its infrastructure in order to mitigate the security threats. In this paper, multilayered security architecture is defined based on defense in depth. In this architecture the cloud infrastructure is divided into defense zones to achieve better security control. Additionally, intrusion detection system (IDS), honeypots and firewalls are incorporated alongside the defense mechanisms of the cloud infrastructure. In this way, a secure architecture is applied in which the end service is provided uninterrupted, while control over the level of security is maintained.

TL;DR: The conclusion is that the Balance Scorecard method (BSC) can be applied as a performance measurement to an industry in Greece.
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to deal with the analysis of the concept of Balance Scorecard and performance measurement in a Tourism company using the case study method. This paper analyze the theoretical and practical approach of strategic Balance scorecard tool, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages, areas that can be applied and the procedures followed in hierarchical order when applied to an industry. The conclusion is that the Balance Scorecard method (BSC) can be applied as a performance measurement to an industry in Greece.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a survey of political marketing in Greece, focusing on the contribution of Greek scholars to the fast growing body of knowledge in this academic field, which has attracted the interest of marketers, political scientists and communication experts.
Abstract: What can be said about political marketing in Greece? This is the question that was addressed at a conference held in June 2003 at the Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of Western Macedonia in Kastoria, Greece. The conference initiated a dialogue among academics and practitioners/commentators as well as laid the foundation for the contribution of Greek scholars to the fast growing body of knowledge in this academic field. Political marketing has grown as a disciplined field of study in the past two decades, attracting the interest of marketers, political scientists and communication experts. To illustrate the growing academic interest suffice to point out the plethora of academic books that have been pub-
