TL;DR: This article examined the effect of exchange rate volatility for a set of three European countries, Germany, Sweden and the UK, on sectoral exports for the period 1973 q1-2010 q4.
Abstract: This paper examines the effect of exchange rate volatility for a set of three European countries, Germany, Sweden and the UK, on sectoral exports for the period 1973 q1–2010 q4. In addition to the standard deviation of moving average of the logarithm of the exchange rate, a new measure capturing unexpected fluctuation of the exchange rate is examined using the autoregressive distributed lags (ARDL) modelling for co–integration. The results suggest that there exist a long–run co–integrating relationship between the exchange rate volatility and the level of exports for the sectors examined, in the UK and Germany, but it does not have an effect on the exports of Sweden.

TL;DR: This paper demonstrates the international trends and prospects of ERP systems as well as the issues encountered in their effective implementation while presenting the research methodology used, the conclusions and finalizing this chapter with proposals for future research.
Abstract: The ever-changing business environment, coupled with increased competition and rapid technological advances, exert pressure on businesses looking for modern ways of production and operation, based on their survival and success in profitability. In order to strengthen their market position and ultimately to gain competitive advantage over others, a large number of companies—perhaps the majority—at a global level have installed or are in the process of adopting Enterprise Resource Planning—ERPs Systems. ERPs reorganize business practices and enhance the processes of business units. Changes that ERPs bring to businesses have significant effects on Management Accounting and Internal Audit but also on Accountants and Internal Auditors who are often asked to adapt their methods and techniques to the requirements of new IT systems. This paper looks for findings from previous research in the field, research conducted on possible changes in Administrative Accounting and Internal Control and depends on the effectiveness of ERP systems. In this study, the research interest is focused on the identification, recording and understanding of critical dimensions and factors for the effective implementation of ERPs in firms through their adoption and effective use. There is a theoretical framework for clarifying some terms useful for a better understanding of key issues discussed below. It also demonstrates the international trends and prospects of ERP systems as well as the issues encountered in their effective implementation while presenting the research methodology used, the conclusions and finalizing this chapter with proposals for future research.

TL;DR: In this paper, a triple-band (GSM 900, DCS 1800, WiFi), highly efficient metamaterial harvester was proposed to operate in wide angles of plane wave incidence.
Abstract: This work describes and proposes a new triple-band (GSM 900, DCS 1800, WiFi), highly efficient metamaterial harvester that is capable to operate in wide angles of plane wave incidence. The energy harvesting structure consists of a conventional metamaterial electric resonator, which employs a via that channels all the absorbed RF power to a resistive load. The latter represents the input impendance of a RF-to-DC rectifier. The metamaterial harvester is analyzed in terms of absorbance, power efficiency and power losses mechanism for normal as well as for wide angle incidence. The assets of the proposed model, could be proven to be potentially instructive for various electromagnetic RF energy harvesting configurations.

TL;DR: This paper surveys representative cooperation enforcement schemes exploiting a reputation system proposed in related research literature and their distinct features are analyzed and their relative merits and weaknesses are discussed.
Abstract: Mobile ad hoc networks rely on node cooperation to perform and support basic functions like packet forwarding, routing and network management. In general, nodes' misbehaviour can significantly degrade the performance of the network. Cooperation enforcement schemes are seen as a lightweight alternative to conventional security techniques, providing a “softer” security layer to protect basic networking operations. The aim of this paper is to survey representative cooperation enforcement schemes exploiting a reputation system proposed in related research literature. Their distinct features are analyzed and their relative merits and weaknesses are discussed.
