TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of lignite combustion fly ashes in the development of ceramic substrates modified with ΤiΟ2 photocatalyst, with environmental benefits.
Abstract: The novel valorization of lignite combustion fly ashes in the development of ceramic substrates modified with ΤiΟ2 photocatalyst, with environmental benefits, was investigated. Disc-shaped compacts from fly ashes (either calcareous or siliceous) were sintered (1000 °C, 2 h), then coated with TiO2 slurry, and further thermally treated (400 and 500 °C, 1 h) to acquire TiO2 consistency onto the ceramic substrate. The ceramic microstructures were examined by XRD and SEM-EDAX. Their photocatalytic activity was examined in aqueous solutions of two organic dyes, methylene blue and methyl orange using visible and UV irradiation, with encouraging results. A synergistic effect between ash ceramic substrates and ΤiΟ2 enhances the properties of the final activated product. Pores occurring on the non-activated ash surface are to some extent covered by TiO2. As a result, the photocatalytic activity, rather than simple dye adsorption onto the surface of the coated substrates, is promoted leading to efficient dye decolorization. Higher dye removal is achieved in the case of methylene blue under cool daylight compared to methyl orange under UV (blacklight and blacklight blue). A major advantage of the process is the immobilization of TiO2 onto a cheap porous substrate, which can provide an alternative for the photocatalytic treatment of industrial effluents.

TL;DR: The findings reveal that Greek events have an important impact on the behavior of the Euro exchange market and the identity of the provider of news releases about the Greek sovereign crisis affects Europeś exchange rates highlighting homogeneity problems in the Eurozone.
Abstract: In this paper, we study the contribution of the geographical (both the regional and international) aspect of news releases, related to the Greek sovereign debt crisis. We investigate the impact of the Greek debt crisis via economic news and surprises on Euro exchange rate volatility and volatility-jumps within a Tobit regression framework. In particular, the impact of three categories of news is examined via the respective number of dummy variables, the number of news per day, and news surprises of 2-year, 5-year and 10-year government bonds and CDS. Also, the role of news releases providers is researched. The analysis starts from 1 July 2009 and ends on 31 May 2015. The data comprises intraday prices for (1) Euro to US dollar (Euro/USD), (2) Euro to Japanese yen (Euro/JPY), (3) Euro to Great British pound (Euro/GBP), (4) Euro to Swiss franc (Euro/CHF) and (5) Euro to Australian dollar (Euro/AUD). Our findings reveal that Greek events have an important impact on the behavior of the Euro exchange market. Secondly, the identity of the provider of news releases about the Greek sovereign crisis affects Europeś exchange rates highlighting homogeneity problems in the Eurozone. The uncertainty, introduced by the Greek sovereign crisis, as shown by our findings, signifies the financial instability in the Eurozone and the strength of the Euro currency. This is vital for policymakers in a common currency environment. Policymakers could evaluate such findings and re-examine the structural plan of the Euro, targeting primarily at the financial integration of the member states.

TL;DR: The structural and thermal properties of poly(L-lactic acid)/layered-silicate hybrid materials that were produced via two different routes, namely by solvent casting and by melt mixing, were compared in association with the degree of clay modification.
Abstract: The structural and thermal characteristics of poly(L-lactic acid)/layered-silicate hybrid materials that were produced via two different routes, namely by solvent casting and by melt mixing, were compared in association with the degree of clay modification. Investigation of the produced materials' structure revealed that, at low modification levels, melt blending is necessary in dispersing the amine-treated clay into the polymer matrix. At intermediate degrees of modification, both techniques are capable of swelling the silicate clay with the solution casting to be a more effective method. Thermal measurements showed that the clay modification level influences significantly the thermal stability of both solution and melt processed hybrids. Moreover, the material derived from melt mixing displayed a higher onset decomposition temperature. The glass transition temperature of the polymer was not significantly affected by the preparation method followed. However, the crystallization process was found to be strongly dependent on both the preparation method and the degree of clay modification. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2012

TL;DR: The importance of organizational culture is considered to be important, if not essential, in all industries and businesses nowadays as mentioned in this paper and every company has its own unique personality, just like people do.
Abstract: Organizational culture is considered to be important, if not essential, in all industries and businesses nowadays Every company has its own unique personality, just like people do This unique personality of an organization refers to its culture In order to become more effective, organizations have realized how important is the role of their culture and the critical effects it has especially within the tourism industry The quality of the services and products is affected to a high extent
