11 Mar 2019TL;DR: The proposed conceptual product design concept is dealing with in-store displays that are inspired from nature forms that can lead to further opportunities for research and marketing success of the retail industry.
Abstract: Nature is a great laboratory where many experiments are taking place every moment. Especially, nature-based design is perhaps the oldest methodology of design with examples from all over the fields of applied sciences. From the conceptual side, product design uses a different approach in nature-based methodology. The proposed conceptual product design concept is dealing with in-store displays that are inspired from nature forms. Those nature-based design ideas can lead to further opportunities for research and marketing success of the retail industry. A number of illustrative case studies of in-store displays are presented in this paper.

TL;DR: In this paper, the promoting impact of potassium (0-1/wt% K) on nitrous oxide (N2O) catalytic decomposition over Ir/Al2O3 is investigated under both oxygen deficient and oxygen excess conditions.
Abstract: The promoting impact of potassium (0–1 wt% K) on nitrous oxide (N2O) catalytic decomposition over Ir/Al2O3 is investigated under both oxygen deficient and oxygen excess conditions All samples were characterized by means of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), ammonia desorption (NH3-TPD) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy of pyridine adsorption (FTIR-Pyridine) The results reveal that the K-free Ir/Al2O3 catalyst consists mainly of the IrO2 phase, exhibiting also significant Lewis acidity, which is gradually eliminated by the addition of K Catalytic performance results showed that the deN2O performance in the absence of O2 in the feed mixture is negatively affected upon increasing potassium loading However, under oxygen excess conditions, a pronounced effect of K is observed Although the catalytic performance of the un-doped catalyst is drastically hindered by the presence of O2, the K-promotion notably prohibits the oxygen poisoning The optimum deN2O performance under oxygen excess conditions is obtained with potassium loading of 05 wt% K, which offers complete conversion of N2O at 580 °C, instead of the corresponding 50 % N2O conversion achieved with the un-modified sample On the basis of characterization results, it was concluded that alkali-doping in combination with oxygen excess conditions are required towards the formation of active Ir entities

01 Mar 2017TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the packaging design process from the company's perspective and the existing trends in today's industries, and point out a series of factors that can make a packaging design successful, based on branding and the customer perception, when different labels and storytelling are used.
Abstract: Packaging design is one of the most significant subunits of the product design field. It is the outer skin of the product, its protection layer and the first element on the consumer’s vision. These three facts increase the importance of packaging design among the enterprises and raise their competition in high levels. The most successful of them have realized that a key factor of their lettering in the open market is packaging design. Therefore they emphasize it on every day’s trends, and invest on their own designs. The present paper describes the packaging design process from the company’s perspective and the existing trends in today’s industries. Additionally, it points out a series of factors that can make a packaging design successful, based on branding and the customer perception, when different labels and storytelling are used. Consequently those factors with the research results are applied upon the olive oil packaging industry, by proposing a number of packaging design solutions at a conceptual level.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the challenges facing organizations in identifying the non-skier market, converting nonskiers to skiers, and overcoming the constraints that keep non skiers off the ski hills.
Abstract: This paper reports on the challenges facing organizations in
identifying the non-skier market, converting non-skiers to skiers and
overcoming the constraints that keep non-skiers off the ski hills. The
authors present the outcome of field research undertaken between
September and December 2003. A convenience sample of 1,365 of
Greeces non-skiers was used. Data were statistically analysed using
categorical regression, cluster analysis, frequencies, percentages and
means in an effort to identify the effect of the basic classification/
independent variables of non-skiers socio-economic status on their
perception of participation constraints. The findings from this
research are described and discussed, and the authors highlight their
relevance to marketing practitioners and policy makers in the
formulation of appropriate marketing strategies to attract and satisfy
these non-skier segments.

01 Jan 2019TL;DR: In this article, a discussion of the recent trends in credit provision, and an outline of the regulatory framework is presented, and the main elements of credit risk modeling are identified, namely the estimation of the probability of default, loss given default, and exposure at default.
Abstract: Credit is a fundamental tool for financial transactions in the private and public sector, providing the liquidity needed for all forms of economic activity for consumers and corporate activities. This chapter sets the basis for understanding the concepts and aspects of credit risk management and the current practices in this field. The discussion starts with a presentation of the recent trends in credit provision, and an outline of the regulatory framework. Then, some fundamental factors that create uncertainties are outlined, and the main elements of credit risk modeling are identified, namely the estimation of the probability of default, loss given default, and exposure at default. The requirements set by the Basel Capital Accords regarding these elements are discussed and different modeling schemes are outlined, including judgmental approaches, data-driven empirical models, and financial models. The chapter closes with some financial measures for assessing the loan profitability, such as risk-adjusted return on capital.
