TL;DR: This paper reviews and presents several techniques used for financial text analysis and highlights some potential problems that may arise during the implementation phase of text mining for accounting/financial applications.
Abstract: We live in a “big” world with “big” information needs and “big” economic data in the form of texts, charts, and numbers However, although the information set that one may use to analyze a company or to make financial decisions contains both text and numbers, traditionally, theoretical and applied economic research overemphasized the importance of numbers in the decision-making process In recent years, advances in hardware and software technologies but most importantly the development of advanced text mining and machine learning algorithms has made the efficient utilization of financial text data a reality In this paper, we review and present several techniques used for financial text analysis and we highlight some potential problems that may arise during the implementation phase of text mining for accounting/financial applications

TL;DR: An original software tool implemented for an automated design methodology associated to a customizable product from footwear industry and it is an easy to use software tool and combines reverse engineering with parametric design of a product that has complex shapes with many curves.
Abstract: The paper presents an original software tool implemented for an automated design methodology associated to a customizable product from footwear industry. The software tool is written in Visual Basic for Application and is integrated in CATIA environment. It is an easy to use software tool and combines reverse engineering with parametric design of a product that has complex shapes with many curves. The final result is a solid CAD model obtained in an automatically mode.

TL;DR: In this paper, the neutrino is assumed to have a mass of about 50 keV and couples to the ordinary neutrinos, and the expected event rate is estimated by measuring electron recoils in the case of materials with low electron binding.
Abstract: Sterile neutrinos are possible dark matter candidates. We examine here possible detection mechanisms, assuming that the neutrino has a mass of about 50 keV and couples to the ordinary neutrino. Even though this neutrino is quite heavy, it is non relativistic with a maximum kinetic energy of 0.1 eV. Thus new experimental techniques are required for its detection. We estimate the expected event rate in the following cases: i) Measure electron recoils in the case of materials with very low electron binding. ii) Low temperature crystal bolometers. iii) Spin induced atomic excitations at very low temperatures, leading to a characteristic photon spectrum. iv) Observation of resonances in antineutrino absorption by a nucleus undergoing electron capture. v) Neutrino induced electron events beyond the end point energy of beta decaying systems, e.g. in the tritium decay studied by KATRIN.

TL;DR: In this paper, a methodological framework that facilitates the incorporation of circular economy (CE) principles into public procurement is proposed. But the authors do not specify the criteria that should be used to evaluate the basic principles of the circular economy.
Abstract: Lately, it has become very common for public authorities to integrate green criteria into public procurement so as to encourage potential suppliers to adopt environmental practices. The public procurement is considered as an effective means for the promotion of green corporate practices protecting the natural environment. Due to the growing the emphasis on the concept of circular economy (CE), public procurement procedures have lately been associated with the concept of CE. Similarly to green public procurement (GPP), CE criteria have been proposed for public procurement procedures. In this context, this chapter suggests a methodological framework that facilitates the incorporation of CE principles into public procurement. It relies on the current literature and scoring-rating techniques in order to evaluate the basic principles of the CE in order to define suppliers that have the greatest contribution to CE. Furthermore, some computational examples are presented to display the functionality, usefulness, and applicability of the proposed methodological framework. The findings show that that the suggested framework is able to help policy makers to incorporate CE principle in procurement procedures as well as to motivate suppliers to adopt appropriate CE practices.

TL;DR: In this paper, the negative comments on the official Facebook pages of Greek supermarkets are analyzed in order to examine the strategies used by firms to tackle negative electronic word of mouth (NEWOM).
Abstract: The use of social media by firms and marketers is becoming essential due to the huge possibilities offered for low-cost promotion and improvement of their brand image. But, by nature, social media could be harmful for companies and brands as the published content often attracts negative comments by consumers and social media users. In the present paper, the negative comments on the official Facebook pages of Greek supermarkets are analyzed in order to examine the strategies used by firms to tackle negative electronic word of mouth (NEWOM). The particular strategies are evaluated based on the literature and provide useful conclusions about the effect on the corporations’ brand image.
