TL;DR: In this article, the basic regularities of biocorrosion processes in the 17G1S-U pipe steel under the influence of Desulfovibrio Sp. strains Kyiv-10 was obtained by weight-loss testing and surface analysis techniques.
Abstract: Abstract There have been revealed and summarized the regularities in biocorrosion of steel 17G1S-U, which is traditionally used for manufacturing oil and gas mains. The basic regularities of biocorrosion processes in the 17G1S-U pipe steel under the influence of SRB Desulfovibrio Sp. strains Kyiv-10 was obtained by weight-loss testing and surface analysis techniques. Effective inhibitors are proposed, which allow protecting steel 17G1S-U against the development of anaerobic corrosion under the influence of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB). The effectiveness of inhibitors is estimated by the degree of their protective effect. The porous structure of the surface film contributes to the initiation of localized corrosion. Damage analysis of the specimen surface corroded under different test conditions was performed.

TL;DR: In this article, a semi-analytical approach for investigation of the stress and strain state of a cracked body is presented, where a cohesive zone model is used to take into account the failure zones which are formed in front of the crack tip.
Abstract: A semi-analytical approach for investigation of the stress and strain state of a cracked body is presented. A cohesive zone model is used to take into account the failure zones which are formed in front of the crack tip. It is proposed to satisfy the crack smooth closure condition approximately. It allows to get rid of solving nonlinear equations for the cohesive lengths. An effective algorithm is developed to find solutions for the uniform traction–separation law. The algorithm is based on the iterative procedure of determination of contact stresses between crack faces, so the possible contact interaction between crack faces can easily be taken into account. In the case of mixed mode cracks, multiple cohesive zone models are considered.

TL;DR: In this paper, the main cause causing transport building structures' failure is associated with high water permeability and low resistance to attack by corrosive media of concrete used in construction, such as cold air, water, ice, salts, etc.
Abstract: About 92% of Lithuanian bridges are made of reinforced concrete. Therefore, the problem of increasing the reliability and service life of their structures is most important for ensuring effective operation of transport buildings. The main factor causing transport building structures’ failure is associated with high water permeability and low resistance to attack by corrosive media of concrete used in construction. Ports, bridges, tunnels, viaducts make a group of transport structures strongly attacked by the aggressive media, e.g. cold air, water, ice, salts, etc. Though the members of these structures (e.g. columns, beams) are usually designed for 50 years of service, they often require a major overhaul or strengthening, when less than the half of this period has passed. Most of the damaged structures are the destroyed protective concrete layer and the corroded steel reinforcement. The corrosion of steel reinforcement is the main problem, causing the decrease of strength in the structures’ and th...
