TL;DR: In this article, the crack propagation in 17Mn1Si steel macroscale is investigated by taking into account the microstructural damage accumulation in polycrystalline solids.
Abstract: The evaluation of crack initiation and growth at microscopic scale is a crucial issue for the safety assessment of macroscopical fractures. In the present paper, the crack propagation in 17Mn1Si steel macroscale is investigated by taking into account the microstructural damage accumulation in polycrystalline solids. The revealed regularities are in good agreement with the concept of physical mesomechanics, which allows obtaining a generalized view of the material deformation and the failure process in the vicinity of the concentrator, which fulfills the limiting, initial and physical conditions and allows obtaining the generalized regularities in deformation and failure of 17Mn1Si steel.

TL;DR: An automated method for analyzing shapes and sizes of dimples resulting from fracture of titanium alloy VT 23, which can be used in technical diagnostics systems, is proposed in this article, where the developed approaches to the analysis of images of fracture surfaces obtained from scanning microscope allow highlighting the components of the objects under study, performing their morphological analysis, and evaluating the mutual relationship between them.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of additional force impulse loading on the variation of the initial structure of the aircraft material (alloys D16, 2024-T3, VT22) at various stages of deformation is presented and a significant enhancement of its initial plasticity is achieved.
Abstract: New experimental results on the effect of additional force impulse loading on the variation of the initial structure of the aircraft material (alloys D16, 2024-T3, VT22) at various stages of deformation are presented and a significant enhancement of its initial plasticity is achieved. Complex investigations into the material properties after a dynamic non-equilibrium process made it possible to describe the main regularities in the nature of deformation and fracture of materials, which allowed proposing general recommendations on using the revealed physical and mechanical regularities in the evaluation of strength of aircraft structures.
