TL;DR: Novel pi-electron systems with trifluoromethylphenyl groups and/or a thiazolothiazole unit developed as n-type semiconductors for OFETs showed excellent n- type performances with high electron mobilities.
Abstract: Novel π-electron systems with trifluoromethylphenyl groups and/or a thiazolothiazole unit were developed as n-type semiconductors for OFETs. They showed excellent n-type performances with high electron mobilities. The trifluoromethylphenyl group was found to be very effective in inducing n-type behavior. The thiazolothiazole unit was favorable for forming stacking structures leading to efficient intermolecular π−π interactions.

TL;DR: These behaviors are explained in terms of disordered magnetism caused by random strengths of inter-nano-graphite antiferromagnetic interactions mediated by pi-conduction carriers.
Abstract: The magnetism of activated carbon fibers composed of a disorder network of nanographites was investigated, where each nanographite has about 1 edge-inherited localized spin. The susceptibility, for samples situated around the metal-insulator threshold, shows a cusp around 4-7 K in addition to the presence of a field-cooling effect. These behaviors are explained in terms of disordered magnetism caused by random strengths of inter-nano-graphite antiferromagnetic interactions mediated by pi-conduction carriers.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the full series of membrane instanton corrections is completely determined by the refined topological string on the Calabi-Yau manifold known as local ℙ1/×/ℙ 1, in the NekrasovShatashvili limit.
Abstract: The partition function of ABJM theory on the three-sphere has nonperturbative corrections due to membrane instantons in the M-theory dual. We show that the full series of membrane instanton corrections is completely determined by the refined topological string on the Calabi-Yau manifold known as local ℙ1 × ℙ1, in the NekrasovShatashvili limit. Our result can be interpreted as a first-principles derivation of the full series of non-perturbative effects for the closed topological string on this Calabi-Yau background. Based on this, we make a proposal for the non-perturbative free energy of topological strings on general, local Calabi-Yau manifolds.

Abstract: A search for the electroweak production of charginos and sleptons decaying into final states with two electrons or muons is presented. The analysis is based on 139 fb$^{-1}$ of proton–proton collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at $\sqrt{s}=13$ $\text {TeV}$. Three R-parity-conserving scenarios where the lightest neutralino is the lightest supersymmetric particle are considered: the production of chargino pairs with decays via either W bosons or sleptons, and the direct production of slepton pairs. The analysis is optimised for the first of these scenarios, but the results are also interpreted in the others. No significant deviations from the Standard Model expectations are observed and limits at 95% confidence level are set on the masses of relevant supersymmetric particles in each of the scenarios. For a massless lightest neutralino, masses up to 420 $\text {Ge}\text {V}$ are excluded for the production of the lightest-chargino pairs assuming W-boson-mediated decays and up to 1 $\text {TeV}$ for slepton-mediated decays, whereas for slepton-pair production masses up to 700 $\text {Ge}\text {V}$ are excluded assuming three generations of mass-degenerate sleptons.

TL;DR: An uncharacterized cytochrome P450 gene is described that is essential for ecdysteroid biosynthesis in the PGs of the silkworm Bombyx mori and fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster and it is demonstrated that S2 cells transfected with Cyp306a1 convert ketodiol to ketotriol via carbon 25 hydroxylation.
