TL;DR: The present data suggest that the consistently increased expression or deregulation of the c-myc and c-Ha-ras genes may play an important role in the development of hepatomas induced by AFB1.

TL;DR: In this article, the wheat flour milling process did not affect the amounts of these toxins in either naturally contaminated flour or spiked flour, however, their contents in bran were 2.4-3.4 times those of the original wheat.
Abstract: About 30% and 60% of nivalenol and deoxynivalenol, respectively, and less than 10% of zearalenone in naturally contaminated wheat remained after the wheat flour milling process. However, their contents in bran were 2.4-3.4 times those of the original wheat. The baking process (170°C for 30min) did not affect the amounts of these toxins in either naturally contaminated flour or spiked flour.

TL;DR: In this article, a diethyl ether extract from an aqueous solution of 4-methylphenol after treatment with hypochlorite was found to be mutagenic to the Ames Salmonella test strain TA100 in the absence of liver homogenate.

••
TL;DR: In this paper, aqueous methylphenol ( o -, m - and p -isomers) solutions were treated with hypochlorite at 20°C under various experimental conditions, and changes in the compositions of the chlorination products in water were determined by using gas chromatographic (GC) and GC-mass spectrometric analyses of diethyl ether extracts.

TL;DR: This is the first report to demonstrate chemically the natural occurrence of trichothecenes and zearalenone in scabby wheat in China.
Abstract: Scabby wheat that was naturally infected with head blight was collected in 1976 from rural districts of Shanghai. GC-ECD, GC/MS and HPLC analyses of the ethanol-acetone extract revealed the presence of deoxynivalenol, nivalenol, and zearalenone. This is the first report to demonstrate chemically the natural occurrence of trichothecenes and zearalenone in scabby wheat in China.

TL;DR: The products of aqueous chlorination reactions of naphthalene, 1- and 2-methylnaphthalenes, 1,2-, 1,3-, 1 4-, 1 5-, 1 8-, 2,3-and 2,6-dimethylnaphalenes and 2, 3,5-trimethylnAPHalene with hypochlorite have been determined by gas chromatography as discussed by the authors.
