TL;DR: In this paper, four beam-interior column Units were designed, constructed and tested subjected to simulated earthquake and gravity loading, and the major test variables were the quantity of horizontal and vertical shear reinforcement in the beam interior column joint cores and the diameter of the beam longitudinal reinforcing bars passing through the joint cores.
Abstract: Four beam-interior column Units were designed, constructed and tested subjected to simulated earthquake and gravity loading. One Unit followed the requirements of the New Zealand concrete design code NZS 3101:1982 for structures designed for ductility. The other three Units only partly followed the requirements of NZS 3101, in order to obtain information on the behaviour of beam-column joints of limited ductility. Plastic hinging was designed to occur in the beams. The major test variables were the quantity of horizontal and vertical shear reinforcement in the beam-interior column joint cores and the diameter of the beam longitudinal reinforcing bars passing through the joint cores. The test results indicted that the current NZS 3101 detailing requirements for shear and bond in the beam-interior column joint core regions of ductile reinforced concrete frames could be relaxed.

TL;DR: Endemism of the brackish-water coastal fauna and the relationship between the Chinese and Japanese, and Indonesian-Malaysian faunas are discussed.
Abstract: Modern Ostracoda in shelf seas off China were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed in 688 surface sediment samples. As a result, a brackish-water assemblage, an eurythermal and steno-haline assemblage and three temperature-related assemblages were recognized. Variations in faunal composition and species diversity are related largely to water temperature and salinity. The China Sea can be divided into three zoogeographical regions based on Ostracoda. Endemism of the brackish-water coastal fauna and the relationship between the Chinese and Japanese, and Indonesian-Malaysian faunas are discussed.

TL;DR: An effective method is presented for automatic construction of incremental LR( 1) parsers that allow multiple modifications of the original input as well as epsilon productions in the underlying LR(1) grammar.
Abstract: An effective method is presented for automatic construction of incremental LR(1) parsers. The resulting parsers allow multiple modifications of the original input as well as epsilon productions in the underlying LR(1) grammar. For parsing a modified input, their space require ment depends linear on the length of the input and their runtime is proportional to the total size of the modifications. The method has been implemented for experimental purposes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method using the rocking curve of the diffraction line for determining the preferred orientation degree of portlandite and obtaining more precise results, which can be used as a quantitative one.
Abstract: It is pointed out by theoretical analyses that calculating the preferred orientation degree of portlandite within the interfacial zone between cement paste and the aggregate, according to the currently accepted formula, can only be used as a qualitative method. The authors propose a method using the rocking curve of the diffraction line for determining the preferred orientation degree of portlandite and obtaining more precise results. This method can be used as a quantitative one.

TL;DR: In this article, a phenomenal model is proposed to describe a non-Markoff relaxation process and the main feature of the model is the fractal time concept introduced to take account of the coupling of a relaxation mode with a heat bath.
Abstract: A phenomenal model is proposed in this paper to describe a non-Markoff relaxation process. The main feature of the model is the fractal time concept introduced to take account of the coupling of a relaxation mode with a heat bath. The theoretical investigation indicates that a weakly non-Markoff relaxation process can be related to a set of hierarchically distributed Markoff relaxation processes and the fractal exponential law exp [−(t/τ)1−σ] is the character of a non-Markoff relaxation process. Calculations about the temperature and time scale dependence of the exponent σ have been made, and comparison with recent experiments is also given.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the stability of a negative charge in polypropylene (PP) corona charged at elevated temperatures, and proposed a phenomenological theory to explain the shift of TSC peaks.
Abstract: Stabilization of a negative charge in polypropylene (PP) corona charged at elevated temperatures is investigated. Measurements of corona current and TSC (thermally stimulated current) yield the charging efficiency and the structure of the trapping levels, respectively. With increasing charging temperatures, the TSC peaks shift to higher temperatures, while the charging efficiency drops. This can be made up partially by prolonging the charging time. A continuous distribution of trap levels has to be assumed, and a new phenomenological theory is suggested. To explain the shift of TSC peaks, trapping and detrapping are taken into account. >

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to obtain a formula for computing the first Cartan invariantC 11 (n) of the groupSp(4,p n ). The main results are as follows: Theorem A. TL;DR: In this article, a nonlinear equation of motion for spins on a lattice, coupled to a bath and driven by a transverse rotating field, is derived based on projection operator theory.
Abstract: A nonlinear equation of motion for spins on a lattice, coupled to a bath and driven by a transverse rotating field, is microscopically derived based on projection operator theory. A simplification procedure is proposed for the bath correlation functions. Apart from linear damping and linear effective fields, modified Landau-Lifshitz terms and nonlinear effective fields are obtained. The dependence on the strength and frequency of the driving field is discussed for special cases.

TL;DR: In this article, a general method for calculating the scattering amplitude of multifrequency acousto-optic diffraction is established, which is based on counting allowable Feynman diagrams.
Abstract: A general method for calculating the scattering amplitude of multifrequency acousto-optic diffraction is established. The method is based on counting allowable Feynman diagrams. It is found that the ratio of the number of Feynman diagrams allowable in the Bragg regime (isotropic, birefringent, and degenerate) to that in the Raman-Nath regime is independent of the total number of different acoustic frequencies, being a function only of the order of the Feynman diagram and the diffraction order of the final state. A general expression for this ratio is obtained. With this as a basis, complete perturbation solutions of the scattering amplitude can be obtained for any final state, any number of acoustic frequencies, and any kind of multifrequency acousto-optic diffraction. The theory is verified by comparing with theoretical results obtained previously and with experiment results.

TL;DR: In this article, a general analytical method-space variable transform method is presented for solving free vibration problems of thick cylindrical shells with arbitrary boundary conditions, which can be extended to analyze free vibration of beams and shells.
Abstract: In this paper, a general analytical method-space variable transform method is presented for solving free vibration problems of thick cylindrical shell with arbitrary boundary conditions. Free vibration characteristics of cantilever thick cylindrical shell are evaluated by the presented method, and the numerical results are compared with the corresponding results of thin shell theory and experimental values. Theoretical analysis and calculating results show that the method presented in this paper has good convergence and accuracy and can be extended to analyze free vibration of beams. plates and shells.
