09 Apr 1985TL;DR: In this article, the air-fuel ratio sensor is installed in both up-and downstreams of a catalytic converter in an exhaust system, while compensating an integration constant as a feedback control constant with output of the sensor at the downstream side.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To keep off any drop in a response velocity due to deterioration, by installing each air-fuel ratio sensor in both up- and downstreams of a catalytic converter in an exhaust system, while compensating an integration constant as a feedback control constant by the sensor at the upstream side with output of the sensor at the downstream side. CONSTITUTION: Both first and second air-fuel ratio sensors A and B, detecting specific component content in exhaust gas, are installed in up- and downstreams of a catalytic converter installed in an exhaust system of an internal-combustion engine, and integration constants KIL and KIR as an air-fuel ratio control constant is calculated by an integration constant operational device C according to output V2 of the sensor B at the downstream side. And, these constants KIL and KIR and an air-fuel ratio compensation value FAF are calculated at an air-fuel ratio compensation value operational device D according to output V1 of the sensor A at the upstream side, whereby the air-fuel ratio of the engine is regulated by an air-fuel ratio regulating device according to this compensation value FAF. With this constitution, a responsive velocity is maintained into a high level irrespective of deterioration in the sensor A at the upstream side. COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the effect of CoSiB/SiO/sub 2/CoSiB films with line structures on the impedance change ratio, where easy axes have been induced in a perpendicular direction to the driving current.
Abstract: Giant Magneto-Impedance (MI) effect of CoSiB/SiO/sub 2//Cu/SiO/sub 2//CoSiB films with line structures have been studied. Easy axes have been induced in perpendicular direction to the driving current, and the insulating SiO/sub 2/ layers have prevented the driving current from penetrating into the CoSiB layers. This structure has enabled the effective occurrence of resistance change at a frequency as low as several MHz. As a result, impedance change ratios /spl Delta/Z/Z/sub 0/=(Z/sub maximum/-Z(H/sub ext/=0))/Z(H/sub ext/=0) are much higher than that of any other layered film without insulating layers. The /spl Delta/Z/Z/sub 0/ at 20 MHz is as high as 700% at 11 Oe, and the maximum slope is 300%/Oe.

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of a cubic ethane−silica hybrid organic−inorganic mesoporous material using a binary surfactant mixture was reported, which consists of ethane-bridged organosilica (BTME), polyoxyethylene alkyl ether [C12(EO)4], and the octadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (C18TMACl) surfactants in a basic medium.
Abstract: Synthesis of a cubic ethane−silica hybrid organic−inorganic mesoporous material using a binary surfactant mixture is reported. The system consists of ethane-bridged organosilica (BTME), polyoxyethylene alkyl ether [C12(EO)4; Brij 30], and the octadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (C18TMACl) surfactants in a basic medium. Powder X-ray diffraction analysis along with transmission electron microscope observation revealed a cubic symmetry of the mesophase and is consistent with the Pm3n space group. Scanning electron microscope micrographs of material exhibit a well-defined crystal-like dodecahedral morphology with a uniform particle size of 5 μm. Spectroscopic analyses confirmed that an ethane fragment is covalently linked to silica in surfactant-free material. The nitrogen adsorption isotherm shows a type-IV isotherm with a pore diameter of 28 A and a Brunauer−Emmett−Teller surface area of 744 m2g-1. The presented BTME−alkyltrimethylammonium−C12(EO)4−NaOH−H2O system greatly facilitates the synthesis of cubic...
