TL;DR: In this article, a vehicle steering control apparatus recognizes a lane on which a vehicle is moving, and controls a steering torque of the vehicle so that the vehicle moves along the lane.
Abstract: A vehicle steering control apparatus which controls a steering torque to move the vehicle toward a line desired by a driver or appropriate for circumstances of the vehicle. The vehicle steering control apparatus recognizes a lane on which a vehicle is moving, and controls a steering torque of the vehicle so that the vehicle moves along the lane. A plurality of reference lines, which extend along the lane and are arranged parallel to each other in a direction of a width of the lane, are set. A target moving line is selected from among the plurality of reference lines in accordance with a state of movement of the vehicle. A steering torque is generated for shifting a moving line of the vehicle toward the target moving line.

TL;DR: In this article, a reducing agent is fed to the catalyst temporarily to desorb the adsorbed sulfate from the catalyst and reduce the sulfate, which makes the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst rich.
Abstract: An exhaust gas purifying device for an engine comprises a catalyst arranged in the exhaust passage for purifying the exhaust gas, the catalyst having an oxidizing ability. An amount of sulfate adsorbed in the catalyst is obtained. When the adsorbed sulfate amount becomes larger than a predetermined amount, a reducing agent is fed to the catalyst temporarily to desorb the adsorbed sulfate from the catalyst and reduce the sulfate. At this time, the amount of the reducing agent is set to make the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst rich.

TL;DR: A method to use Chlorella to express a recombinant heterologous protein that can be recovered from the extracellular medium has been developed and contains a Kanr region which confers resistance to the antibiotic G418.
Abstract: A method to use Chlorella to express a recombinant heterologous protein that can be recovered from the extracellular medium has been developed. Plasmids are constructed with an extracellular secretion signal sequence inserted between a promoter region and a gene for human growth hormone (hGH). The plasmids also contain a Kanr region which confers resistance to the antibiotic G418. Protoplasts are prepared by enzymatic treatment, and the plasmid is introduced by incubation of the protoplasts with polyethylene glycol and dimethyl sulfoxide. Cells are then grown in the presence of G418, and the medium is collected from 6 days after transfection. hGH is measured by immunoassay, and values for expressed hGH of about 200-600 ng/ml are obtained.

TL;DR: This paper reports on an integrated inference and decision-making approach for autonomous driving that models vehicle behavior for both the authors' vehicle and nearby vehicles as a discrete set of closed-loop policies.
Abstract: This paper reports on an integrated inference and decision-making approach for autonomous driving that models vehicle behavior for both our vehicle and nearby vehicles as a discrete set of closed-loop policies. Each policy captures a distinct high-level behavior and intention, such as driving along a lane or turning at an intersection. We first employ Bayesian changepoint detection on the observed history of nearby cars to estimate the distribution over potential policies that each nearby car might be executing. We then sample policy assignments from these distributions to obtain high-likelihood actions for each participating vehicle, and perform closed-loop forward simulation to predict the outcome for each sampled policy assignment. After evaluating these predicted outcomes, we execute the policy with the maximum expected reward value. We validate behavioral prediction and decision-making using simulated and real-world experiments.
