TL;DR: This methodology will allow the use of reverse genetics in the study of PVY-plant interactions and will also be useful for obtaining infectious cDNA from other viruses with large RNA genomes.
Abstract: Potato virus Y (PVY) full-length cDNA has been found to be refractory to cloning in Escherichia coli cells. A full-length 9.7 kb PVY cDNA was obtained by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) from the RNA of PVY (tuber necrotic strain, PVYNTN). Double-stranded DNA fragments were used as primers (ds megaprimers), to include signals for transcription in vivo (a cauliflower mosaic virus 35S RNA promoter and a nopaline synthase terminator) in the final PCR product. Biolistic bombardment with a helium particle gun was used to inoculate the amplified product to detached tobacco leaves. Inoculation of tobacco plants with ground inoculated leaves followed by northern blot, ELISA and immuno-electron microscopy demonstrated that the DNA was highly infectious with up to 90% of bombarded leaves containing the virus. This methodology will allow the use of reverse genetics in the study of PVY-plant interactions and will also be useful for obtaining infectious cDNA from other viruses with large RNA genomes.

TL;DR: In this article, a model of turbulence with second-order closure is used to study the properties of turbulent jets with major variations in density, and a Favre average procedure is employed to validate the performance of this model.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define the class of H*V-A-modules, which are modulo 2 equivariante equivariant modulo equivariants of a V-space.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that in a non-cubic crystal, the extra heat capacity due to quadrupolar interaction of nuclear spins > 1 2 could be much bigger than the phonon heat capacity when the temperature decreases.
Abstract: It is shown that in a non-cubic crystal, the extra heat capacity due to quadrupolar interaction of nuclear spins > 1 2 could be much bigger than the phonon heat capacity when the temperature decreases. The possible coupling between quadrupolar and phonon heat reservoir via paramagnetic impurities is stressed. A NMR experiment done on sapphire is presented with an evaluation of the coupling between the two reservoirs and its consequence on the performance of the bolometer.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the solubility properties of the phosphogypsum sideproduct of the Phosphor industry and presented phase diagrams of potassium, calcium, hydrogen phosphates, sulphates and water.
Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the solubility properties of the phosphogypsum a sideproduct of phosphor industry. Phase diagrams of potassium, calcium, hydrogen phosphates, sulphates and water are presented in order to determine equilibrium of solubility. Solid phases were investigated by X-ray diffraction, IR spectrometry and thermal analysis (DTG-DTA).

TL;DR: In this paper, three-dimensional potential energy functions for the lowest X 2 B 1, A 2 A 1 and 2 B 2 states of the H2Se+ radical cation have been generated by ab initio calculations and used in the evaluation of the spectroscopic constants of the X2B1 and A2A1 states.
Abstract: Three-dimensional potential energy functions for the lowest X 2 B 1 , A 2 A 1 and 2 B 2 states of the H2Se+ radical cation have been generated by ab initio calculations and used in the evaluation of the spectroscopic constants of the X2B1 and A2A1 states. Variationally calculated vibrational levels up to 10 000 cm−1 of the X state and the low lying vibrational levels of the A state are reported. The largest absolute line intensities obtained from theoretical dipole moment functions and rovibrational wave functions are given for the fundamental vibrational transitions.
