TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of different TiO 2 compositions on the stability of tellurite glass with different FTIR results and showed that the Te-O-Te inter-chain linkages are progressively substituted by stronger TeO-Ti bridges that are at the origin of the increase of the thermal stability of the glass.

TL;DR: This work proposes an ensemble feature selection approach based on feature selectors’ reliability assessment that aims at providing a unique and stable feature selection without ignoring the predictive accuracy aspect.
Abstract: The curse of dimensionality is based on the fact that high dimensional data is often difficult to work with. A large number of features can increase the noise of the data and thus the error of a learning algorithm. Feature selection is a solution for such problems where there is a need to reduce the data dimensionality. Different feature selection algorithms may yield feature subsets that can be considered local optima in the space of feature subsets. Ensemble feature selection combines independent feature subsets and might give a better approximation to the optimal subset of features. We propose an ensemble feature selection approach based on feature selectors’ reliability assessment. It aims at providing a unique and stable feature selection without ignoring the predictive accuracy aspect. A classification algorithm is used as an evaluator to assign a confidence to features selected by ensemble members based on their associated classification performance. We compare our proposed approach to several existing techniques and to individual feature selection algorithms. Results show that our approach often improves classification performance and feature selection stability for high dimensional data sets.

TL;DR: The wide variety of S. aureus genotypes found in dairy cattle worldwide demonstrated suggests that considering the region of interest might help to formulate strategies for reducing the infection spreading.
Abstract: Staphylococcus aureus is recognized worldwide as one of the major agents of dairy cow intra-mammary infections. This microorganism can express a wide spectrum of pathogenic factors used to attach, colonize, invade and infect the host. The present study evaluated 120 isolates from eight different countries that were genotyped by RS-PCR and investigated for 26 different virulence factors to increase the knowledge on the circulating genetic lineages among the cow population with mastitis. New genotypes were observed for South African strains while for all the other countries new variants of existing genotypes were detected. For each country, a specific genotypic pattern was found. Among the virulence factors, fmtB, cna, clfA and leucocidins genes were the most frequent. The sea and sei genes were present in seven out of eight countries; seh showed high frequency in South American countries (Brazil, Colombia, Argentina), while sel was harboured especially in one Mediterranean country (Tunisia). The etb, seb and see genes were not detected in any of the isolates, while only two isolates were MRSA (Germany and Italy) confirming the low diffusion of methicillin resistance microorganism among bovine mastitis isolates. This work demonstrated the wide variety of S. aureus genotypes found in dairy cattle worldwide. This condition suggests that considering the region of interest might help to formulate strategies for reducing the infection spreading.

TL;DR: In this article, the anticorrosive properties of three biologically active chalcones, namely (E)-2-(4-(3-(2,5 dimethoxyphenyl)acryloyl) phenoxy)acetic acid (AA-3), 2-(4]-3-(4-methoxymyl polyphenyl)propanoyl)-phenoxy)acetyl acetic acid(AA-2), were evaluated by electrochemical tests and molecular orbital theory and molecular dynamics simulations.
