TL;DR: The major focus of the paper is on averaged models of various kinds, but sampled-data models are also introduced and the importance of hierarchical modeling and simulation is emphasized.
Abstract: This paper reviews some of the major approaches to modeling and simulation in power electronics, and provides references that can serve as a starting point for the extensive literature on the subject. The major focus of the paper is on averaged models of various kinds, but sampled-data models are also introduced. The importance of hierarchical modeling and simulation is emphasized.

15 Sep 2004TL;DR: In this paper, a fiber optic telecommunications frame is provided including panels having front and rear termination locations, the panels positioned on left and right sides of the frame, the frame includes cable storage spools for the patch cables.
Abstract: A fiber optic telecommunications frame is provided including panels having front and rear termination locations, the panels positioned on left and right sides of the frame. The frame includes vertical access for the rear cables. The frame further includes left and right vertical cable guides for the front patch cables. The frame further includes cable storage spools for the patch cables. The frame includes a horizontal passage linking the left and right panels and the cable guides. A portion of the frame defines splice tray holders and a central passage from the splice tray holders to the rear sides of the left and right panels. From a front of each panel, access to a rear of the panel is provided by the hinged panels. Alternatively, the panels can form connector modules with front termination locations and rear connection locations for connecting to the rear cables. The modules can house couplers, such as splitters, combiners, and wave division multiplexers. The termination locations can be located on the same side of the frame as the splice tray holders, or on an opposite side. An enclosure of the frame included hinged or otherwise moveable panels to allow access to the terminations or the splice trays.

27 Oct 1995TL;DR: In this paper, a hand-held radio telephone for communication through an orbiting satellite is provided, which includes a radiation absorber defining an open curved shape in cross-section, so as to define an open transmission area.
Abstract: A hand-held radio telephone for communication through an orbiting satellite is provided. An antenna assembly is fixed to the hand-held radio telephone and includes a radiation absorber defining an open curved shape in cross section, so as to define an open transmission area. An antenna is disposed adjacent to the open transmission area so that during use of the hand-held radio telephone some of the radiation signal emitted from the antenna is absorbed by the radiation absorber. The radiation signal that is not absorbed by the radiation absorber is transmitted through the open transmission area for reception by a remote receiver, such as an orbiting satellite. At least one parasitic radiation redirection element receives radiation emitted from the antenna. The radiation received by the parasitic radiation redirection element is directed toward the open transmission area, so as to extend a transmission range of the antenna assembly, and thus extend the transmission range of the hand-held radio telephone. By this construction, at least some of the radiation signal that is emitted from the antenna in directions toward the user is blocked by the radiation absorber from being transmitted to the user. Thus, in accordance with the present invention, the inventive hand-held radio telephone has an antenna assembly capable of preventing unwanted exposure of the user to potentially harmful radiation, while providing an enhanced and extended transmission signal to enable improved communication.

22 Aug 2001TL;DR: An optical fiber cable management panel is provided with slideable drawers and structure within the drawers for cable management and/or connection to other devices as discussed by the authors, which includes a U-shaped trough section and cable retention tabs.
Abstract: An optical fiber cable management panel is provided with slideable drawers and structure within the drawers for cable management and/or connection to other devices. Tray inserts drop into the drawers to provide the appropriate management and connection devices. A movable take-up mechanism manages the cable entering and exiting the drawers at side openings. Stackable pivoting storage trays on the tray insert include a detent arrangement for holding each tray in a pivoted access position. The tray inserts further include a front key, and a back tab mounting arrangement for mounting the tray inserts to the drawers, and side radius limiters including notches for extending over raised portions of the drawer. The take-up mechanism includes a U-shaped trough section and cable retention tabs. A control mechanism is provided for controlling movement of the take-up mechanism relative to the drawer.

09 Sep 2009TL;DR: In this article, a method for providing Ethernet connectivity over a distributed antenna system comprises receiving internet protocol (IP) formatted data from an internet protocol device coupled to a remote unit of a distributed antennas system; sampling wireless radio frequency (RF) signals received at the remote unit to produce digitized RF samples; generating a serial data stream for output to a host unit of the distributed antenna systems, the serial data streams further comprising a multiple-timeslot communication frame providing a first partition of bandwidth for transporting the digitised RF samples and a second partition of Ethernet pipe for implementing an Ethernet pipe
Abstract: Systems and methods for IP communication over a distributed antenna system transport are provided. In one embodiment, a method for providing Ethernet connectivity over a distributed antenna system comprises receiving internet protocol (IP) formatted data from an internet protocol device coupled to a remote unit of a distributed antenna system; sampling wireless radio frequency (RF) signals received at the remote unit to produce digitized RF samples; generating a serial data stream for output to a host unit of the distributed antenna system, the serial data stream further comprising a multiple-timeslot communication frame providing a first partition of bandwidth for transporting the digitized RF samples and a second partition of bandwidth for implementing an Ethernet pipe for transporting the IP formatted data.
