Análise das atribuições dos fonoaudiólogos do NASF em municípios da região metropolitana do Recife

Abstract: OBJETIVO: analisar as atribuicoes dos fonoaudiologos no Nucleo de Apoio a Saude da Familia (NASF) de acordo com preconizacoes da portaria GM no 154 de 24 de janeiro de 2008. METODO: os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionario semi-estruturado, aplicado aos fonoaudiologos do NASF da Regiao Metropolitana do Recife (RMR), dividido em dois eixos, um relacionado ao perfil do fonoaudiologo e outro referente as atividades desenvolvidas e organizacao do processo de trabalho. RESULTADOS: verificou-se que 100% dos entrevistados sao do sexo feminino e afirmaram ter experiencia em trabalhos com comunidade. Destes, 80% realizavam atendimentos domiciliares e 60% relataram experiencias com trabalho multiprofissional ou interdisciplinar. Quanto as atribuicoes desenvolvidas pelas fonoaudiologas no NASF, observou-se que 60% realizaram o diagnostico de area antes do inicio do trabalho, confirmando a pactuacao de grupos prioritarios comas Equipes de Saude da Familia (ESF). Todas afirmam realizar acoes integradas entre ESF, NASF e equipamentos sociais, existindo projetos intersetoriais e acoes de inclusao de pessoas com deficiencias em 80% destes. Dentre as entrevistadas, 60% priorizam acoes de reabilitacao. CONCLUSAO: o estudo sobre o perfil profissional e o processo de trabalho dos fonoaudiologos atuantes nos NASF pode ajudar a identificar os desafios enfrentados no seu cotidiano e subsidiar acoes que promovam mudancas na formacao e atuacao desses profissionais em direcao a um cuidado mais integral e resolutivo.

Italian association of clinical endocrinologists (AME) position statement: drug therapy of osteoporosis

Abstract: Treatment of osteoporosis is aimed to prevent fragility fractures and to stabilize or increase bone mineral density. Several drugs with different efficacy and safety profiles are available. The long-term therapeutic strategy should be planned, and the initial treatment should be selected according to the individual site-specific fracture risk and the need to give the maximal protection when the fracture risk is highest (i.e. in the late life). The present consensus focused on the strategies for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis taking into consideration all the drugs available for this purpose. A short revision of the literature about treatment of secondary osteoporosis due both to androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer and to aromatase inhibitors for breast cancer was also performed. Also premenopausal females and males with osteoporosis are frequently seen in endocrine settings. Finally particular attention was paid to the tailoring of treatment as well as to its duration.

Extraction of amylase from fermentation broth in poly (Ethylene Glycol) salt aqueous two-phase system

Abstract: Studies were carried out on the partition of amylase from Bacillus subtilis in a minimal medium at 37 oC and 110 rpm. Enzyme recovery was carried out in aqueous two-phase system PEG-Phosphate salt were carried out. The best purification factor (5.4) was obtained in system PEG 1000 (16.7% w/w) with potassium phosphate (14.8% w/w), at pH 6.0, resulting in a recovery of 45.2% activity enzymatic in the salt-rich phase.

Ethnic aspects of vitamin D deficiency

Abstract: Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to bone fragility in children and adults, and to an increased risk of chronic diseases. The main sources of vitamin D are the diet and cutaneous synthesis, the latter being the most important one, since foods are relatively poor in vitamin D. The main factors influencing this endogenous production are the seasons, the time of day, latitude and skin phototype. Due to the contribution of sun exposure in maintaining vitamin D levels, it would be expected that this deficiency would be more prevalent in countries at a high latitude; it has been shown, however, that hypovitaminosis D is commonly found in tropical regions such as Brazil. In high latitude regions in which extreme skin phototypes have been compared, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency is more common in people with originally darker skin who have a natural barrier to the already lower UV irradiation penetrating the skin. In Brazil, particularly in the areas where sun rays are more abundant, the difference in sunlight exposure between subjects showed no significant variation in serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD).
