RESULTADOS: Dos 30 individuos, 9 (30%) eram do sexo masculino e 21 (70%), do sexo feminino.

TL;DR: It was concluded that goalkeepers were characterized as being taller and heavier and that somatotype features of athletes were similar between positions, except for midfield players.
Abstract: The aim of this study was to identify the morphological configuration of youth athletes from professional soccer clubs and to verify their differences according to the tactical position on the field. Overall, 67 male players aged 15 to 17 years were evaluated. The examined anthropometric measurements included body mass, body height, skinfolds (triceps, subscapular, supraspinal and medial calf), girths (flexed and tensed arm and calf) and breadths (humerus and femur). For statistical purposes, analysis of variance and post hoc Bonferroni and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used. We concluded that goalkeepers were heavier and taller than center backs (p = 0.015 and p = 0.001), midfielders (p = 0.005 and p <0.001) and center forward players (p = 0.024 and p <0.001). The average somatotype for defense, forward and goalkeeper positions was a balanced mesomorph. Midfield players showed ectomorphic-mesomorph characteristics. It was concluded that goalkeepers were characterized as being taller and heavier and that somatotype features of athletes were similar between positions, except for midfield players.

TL;DR: A high prevalence of neural tube closing defect was determined, but this could have resulted from the fact that the maternity ward of Instituto Materno Infantil Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP) is a referral facility for high-risk pregnancies.
Abstract: OBJECTIVES: to determine neural tube closing defects in newborns delivered in the maternity ward of the Women Care Center of the Instituto Materno Infantil Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP). METHODS: a descriptive cross-sectional cohort study, with data collected from a Born Alive Information System from which all records of newborns with fetal malformation were selected. From these records the ones pertaining to newborns between 2000 and 2004 with the neural tube closing defect were considered. RESULTS: of 24.964 births, 709 newborns with some type of malformation were registered. When narrowing this to the newborns with the neural tube closing defect the number disclosed was 124, with a prevalence of 0.5% of the births within the period. Newborns with the neural tube closing defect, in general, had similar characteristics to newborns with other malformations. The majority (68.5%) of these newborns was delivered through C-Section and 37.7% had low birthweight. CONCLUSIONS: a high prevalence of neural tube closing defect was determined, but this could have resulted from the fact that the maternity ward of Instituto Materno Infantil Prof. Fernando Figueira (IMIP) is a referral facility for high-risk pregnancies.

TL;DR: RCs and PGs have a similar expression of inflammatory mediators although the secretion of TNF‐&agr; by macrophages and of COX‐2 by several cells was higher in PGs, indicating a greater inflammatory response in these lesions.

TL;DR: An automated method for adjusting two-level cache memory hierarchy in order to reduce energy consumption in embedded applications and reduces the number of cycles needed to execute a given application by about 25%.
Abstract: In this work is presented an automated method for adjusting two-level cache memory hierarchy in order to reduce energy consumption in embedded applications. The proposed heuristic, TECH-CYCLES (Two-level Cache Exploration Heuristicconsidering CYCLES), consists of making a small search in the space of configurations of the two-level cache hierarchy, analyzing the impact of each parameter in terms of energy and number of cycles spent for a given application. Experiments show an average reduction of about 41% in the energy consumption by using our heuristic when compared with the existing heuristic (TCaT), also for two-level caches. Besides the energy improvement, this method also reduces the number of cycles needed to execute a given application by about 25%. In order to validate the proposed heuristic, twelve benchmarks from the MiBench suite have been used.
