TL;DR: ProgRef v3 as discussed by the authors is a software developed by psychologists to obtain human data from schedules of reinforcement, which is used to motivate teachers and students in research about the issue, and to incentive more professionals to invest in software program development turned to the research.
Abstract: An expressive growing in the development of software useful to Psychology is observed in the last years. However, there are few psychologists directly involved in the designing of the programs, especially due to their low ability in computer programming. Some advantages observed in the direct involvement of psychologists-researchers point to the independence to schedule the experiments. The objective of this article is to present a software (ProgRef v3) developed by psychologists to obtain human data from schedules of reinforcement. Other purpose is to contribute to incentive teachers and students in research about the issue, and to incentive more professionals to invest in software program development turned to the research.

TL;DR: The authors investigated if children with difficulty in writing two syllable words would learn do so through games that teach relations among written words and CRMTS, written word and figure, figure and word spoken by the child.
Abstract: This study investigated if children with difficulties in writing two syllable words would learn do so through games that teach relations among written word and CRMTS, written word and figure, figure and CRMTS, written word and manuscript written word, spoken word and figure, written word and word spoken by the child. The participants were three 6 to 8 year old children. The intervention consisted of using a board game, a memory game and copying the word on a board. A dictation was initially conducted, in which 8 training words were selected among those incorrectly written by the children. After the intervention, a new dictation was conducted with 10 additional generalization words. All children, with the exception of one of them regarding the generalization words and syllables, emitted an increasing number of training words and correctly written syllables. The use of games helped to improve the children’s writing skills. Implications of these findings and the need of further investigations on this topic are discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate some stigmatization effects in the narrative of children with chronic dermatoses, including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and vitiligo.
Abstract: Atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and vitiligo are chronic skin diseases in which prognosis, evolution, the kinds of required cares, and the visibility of the condition constitute factors that affect both the patient's and their parents´ behavior. The main difficulty faced up by the person who has one of such diseases is the fact that he/she becomes a constant target of discrimination and prejudice. This study aims to demonstrate some stigmatization effects in the narrative of children with chronic dermatoses. To this purpose, six chronic skin disease affected children, between seven and eight years old, created, individually, a text for the characters of a children's tale. The results showed that prejudice and stigmatization are present in different social contexts and there are difficulties for children as well as their family to faceupto these situations in a proper way.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a study aimed at investigating the frequency, effectiveness and the ways in which the training in social skills were used as the main treatment for individuals diagnosed as being in OCD by using a bibliografic survey.
Abstract: This paper presents the results of a study aimed at investigating the frequency, effectiveness and the ways in which the training in social skills were used as the main treatment for individuals diagnosed as being in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), by using a bibliografic survey. Works published and issued by PsycINFO were selected as data resources. The criteria for the search were: (a) being written in the English language; (b) published in scientific journals; (c) and have as key words “Obsessive Compulsive Neurosis” and “Social Skills Training” (and correlated terms). Eighteen papers were selected, and only ten papers were available in article format. Although the number of researches on OCD had increased recently, only a few number of publications have examinated the social abilities as a relevant factor of treatment for OCD. None of the consulted papers had the objective of evaluating the effects of intervention in social abilities on the OCD cases.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated if training using instructions and modeling would improve the interaction between mothers and their children during school homework activities, and they found that the procedure was effective only to reduce the rate of responses of the "to do for the child" category from the mother in couple 4 and, maybe, it has contributed to increase the response rate of 'to praise' category from mothers in couple 1.
Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate if training using instructions and modeling would improve the interaction between mothers and their children during school homework activities. Four couples of mothers and children participated in this study. The study was composed of three phases. In phase 1 mothers helped their children in the execution of school homework, in Phase 2 important concepts on how to be more effective on helping children with their school homework were taught to mothers, and in Phase 3 the intervention was removed. Results suggest that the procedure was effective only to reduce the rate of responses of the “to do for the child” category from the mother in couple 4 and, maybe, it has contributed to increase the rate of responses of the “to praise” category from the mother in couple 1. The results were compared to similar studies.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss therapeutic early delivery of an unviable fetus on the basis of moral premises and demonstrate the need to ensure the woman's autonomy in the event of a pregnancy with an anencephalous fetus, such that, after reflection and discussion with her peers, the decision on whether to terminate the pregnancy when faced with the diagnosis of fetal malformation must be hers alone.
Abstract: Anencephaly is a severe fetal anomaly that is incompatible with extrauterine life. This paper addresses this malformation and its consequences on the life of the pregnant woman, based on the nonexistence of potential fetal life, which makes termination of the pregnancy legally permitted. The procedure performed in this case is known as therapeutic early delivery, and should not in any way be confused with abortion. The distinctions between these two institutes are highlighted, and the issue of anencephaly is dealt with, showing its lethal nature. Likewise, this study seeks to emphasize the greater possibility of risk to the woman’s health in pregnancies of this type. Ethical issues relating to human life and the human being and person are also addressed, discussing therapeutic early delivery of an unviable fetus on the basis of moral premises. The aim is therefore to demonstrate the need to ensure the woman’s autonomy in the event of a pregnancy with an anencephalous fetus, such that, after reflection and discussion with her peers, the decision on whether to terminate the pregnancy when faced with the diagnosis of fetal malformation must be hers alone.

TL;DR: In this paper, acceptance-based procedures to the treatment of exhibitionism, as well as the relevance of a friendship to promote this particular clinical change are discussed, and at the end of them, the masturbation, paraphiliac thoughts and the public exhibition had their frequency reduced to no occurrence in two weeks.
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to describe some acceptance based procedures to the treatment of exhibitionism. The client was a 24 years old student, who looked for psychotherapic treatment spontaneously. He had been showing exhibitionists responses for eight years. His exhibitionist responses used to occur once a day followed by masturbation and uncomfortable feelings of guilt-according to the self-records of the first twenty days in treatment. Sixteen sessions were conducted and at the end of them, the masturbation, the paraphiliac thoughts and the public exhibition had their frequency reduced to no occurrence in two weeks. This paper discusses the acceptance-based procedures to the treatment of exhibitionism, as well as the relevance of a friendship to promote this particular clinical change.

TL;DR: In this article, a maneira a memoria organizacional se constitui em espacos empresariais, e as pequenas e medias empresas precisaram desenvolver mecanismos, visando a sobrevivencia no worldo competitivo.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a study with 100 journalists from seven different Brazilian universities to evaluate what they think about the importance of ethical reflections, how much they know about this theme and whether their academic background was enough for the ethical practice of their profession.
Abstract: We are experiencing a new communicational paradigm. Information is produced in an instantaneous way increasing the risk of breaking ethical values, which should rule over the information professionals. This present study is part of a general explanation about ethics in the press and its correlation with bioethics and philosophy. Today, more than ever, are information professionals vulnerable, as they need to work with complex and globalized themes that require reflective decision making. Nevertheless, are ethically prepared to generate journalistically responsible practices? To answer such a question, we carried out a research involving 100 journalists graduated from seven different Brazilian universities. The objective was to evaluate what they think about the importance of ethical reflections, how much they know about this theme and whether their academic background was enough for the ethical practice of their profession. The research evidenced that the lack of ethical preparation of those professionals is overlooked, by their academic formation, which has not given proper relevance to such an aspect of the profession.
