TL;DR: In this article, a study of 350 pintos distribuidos in delineamento experimental inteiramento casualizado, em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 + 1 (2 niveis de substituicao: 10 ou 20% x suplementacao or nao com enzimas + dieta controle), totalizando cinco tratamentos, with sete repeticoes.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a survey in the Virtual Health Library, annals from the Brazilian Congress of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and Theses and Dissertations to identify the state of the question on the performance and the insertion of speech, language and hearing sciences in the family health strategy.
Abstract: The insertion of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences in the Family Health Strategy is something new and studies in this field are scarce. In light of this, the objective of this study was to identify, from national and international literature, the state of the question on the performance and the insertion of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences in the Family Health Strategy. For this purpose, we conducted a survey in the Virtual Health Library, annals from the Brazilian Congress of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and Theses and Dissertations. From the study, it was possible to detect that lack of training for the speech, language and hearing therapist for work in Family Health Strategy is one of the main limiting factors for the insertion and performance of these professionals in this scenario; it was evident that few scientific publications address the theme; and it revealed that the Multi-professional Residency in Family Health has become essential to bridge the gap in the training of the speech, language and hearing therapists in Primary Health Care. There are many challenges for the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences category to consolidate their performance in the Family Health Strategy, but, in spite of these weaknesses, their work in the territory promotes care that provides more quality of life and health to the population.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors monitored the meteorological variables and phytoplankton abundance of Pedalinhos Lake on a weekly basis from September 2015 to September 2018.
Abstract: Ceratium furcoides has received attention due its invasive behavior in South America and consequent alterations in local phytoplankton communities. Pedalinhos Lake had been dominated by chlorophytes until 2015, when the first occurrence of this dinoflagellate was detected. In order to investigate the colonization process of this species, we monitored the meteorological variables and phytoplankton abundance of this urban lake on a weekly basis from September 2015 to September 2018. At the beginning of the invasion process (Year 1), a peak density of 10,170 ind.mL-1 was recorded, with a significant decrease to 23 ind.mL-1, indicating an initial, unstable process of adaptation, with notable oscillation and reduction of cyanobacterial blooms. At this time, abundance of C. furcoides revealed inverse correlations with cyanobacteria, temperature, and insolation. InYear 2 therewere a stabilization of the density of C. furcoides accompanied by increased cell size. Year 3 (starting in September 2017) was again marked by oscillations in the density of this dinoflagellate. This study contributes to improved understanding of the adaptation process of this dinoflagellate in an invaded environment and its effects on the local phytoplankton community.

TL;DR: This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal and antibiofilm effects of essential oil from leaves of Lippia gracilis and its major constituents, thymol and carvacrol, against phytopathogenic fungi.
Abstract: Aims This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal and antibiofilm effects of essential oil (EO) from leaves of Lippia gracilis and its major constituents, thymol and carvacrol, against phytopathogenic fungi. Methods and results The leaves of L. gracilis were hydrodistilled to obtain the EO and the chemical composition was determined by GC/MS analysis. The antifungal activity of EO of L. gracilis was evaluated on the vegetative and mycelial growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Colletotrichum lindemuthianum, Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium solani. In addition, the ability of the oil to inhibit fungal biofilm formation was assessed by total biomass quantification using crystal violet staining, analysis of metabolic activity, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Moreover the antifungal and antibiofilm activities of the monoterpenes, thymol and carvacrol, present in EO of L. gracilis were evaluated against F. oxysporum. The analysis of the chemical composition of EO extracted from L. gracilis, revealed the presence of monoterpenes (94·13%), which included carvacrol (48·57%) and thymol (7·78%), and 4 sesquiterpenes (3·74%). In general, EO showed significant antifungal activity and inhibited the formation of fungal biofilms. Furthermore, thymol and carvacrol showed significant antifungal and antibiofilm activities against F. oxysporum. SEM images showed structural changes in fungal morphology upon treatment with EO of L. gracilis. Conclusion The results presented in this study showed promising antifungal and antibiofilm effects of EO of L. gracilis and its major components, carvacrol and thymol. Significance and impact of the study These findings indicate that the EO extracted from L. gracilis, and the monoterpenes, carvacrol and thymol have a great potential as antifungal and antibiofilm agents. Furthermore, this is the first report of the antibiofilm activity of the EO of L. gracilis and its major components against phytopathogenic fungi.

TL;DR: In this paper, two alkaloids extracted from Pilocarpus Microphyllus (Rutaceae): pilosine and epiisopilosine were investigated at 300 K. Vibrational wavenumber and wave vector have been predicted using density functional theory (B3LYP) calculations with the 6-31 G(d,p) basis set.
Abstract: This paper describes the study of two alkaloids extracted from Pilocarpus Microphyllus (Rutaceae): pilosine and epiisopilosine. These substances have potential application in the treatment of several diseases. In this work FT-Raman and the FT-IR spectra of pilosine and epiisopilosine were investigated at 300 K. Vibrational wavenumber and wave vector have been predicted using density functional theory (B3LYP) calculations with the 6-31 G(d,p) basis set. A comparison with experiment, allowed us to assign most of the normal modes of the crystals.
