Violence In Immigrants: Effects On Health, Perception Of Discrimination And Loneliness

Abstract: The objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of violence against Brazilian immigrant women since their arrival in Portugal and to know the consequences of this violence on the women's experience, specifically on health, perception of discrimination and loneliness. Conducted in the first half of 2016, with 682 women over 18 years of age living in Portugal for more than three months. Two types of collection were instituted: online, through the Limasurvey Platform, and in person, at the Consulate General of Brazil in Porto and Lisbon and in the Mais Association, applying the Discrimination Perceptions, Loneliness Scales (ULS-6) and Mental Health Problems. The results suggest that Brazilian women who have been targets of violence in Portugal have a worse perception of their health, a higher perception of discrimination, a higher level of solitude and more mental problems, which indicates that this group of immigrants has some vulnerabilities in the country, since violence has a harmful effect on physical and mental health. It is believed to be crucial to create a policy that aims at transforming actions aimed at strengthening the citizen and collective consciousness of these immigrant women

Caracterização das graduações em enfermagem segundo Exame Nacional de Desempenho de Estudantes

Abstract: Objetivo: caracterizar os cursos de Enfermagem segundo resultados do Enade, nos ciclos avaliativos de 2010 e 2013. Metodo: estudo quantitativo de base documental, com organizacao e analise dos dados orientados pela estatistica descritiva. Resultados: a analise dos relatorios do Enade permitiu identificar um decrescimo no numero total de instituicoes que ofertam cursos de graduacao em enfermagem e que passaram pelo processo avaliativo. As regioes Sudeste, Nordeste e Sul do Brasil apresentaram as maiores quantidades de cursos avaliados, bem como os melhores resultados nos dois ciclos avaliativos. Observou-se tambem que os cursos avaliados como sem conceito em sua maioria pertenciam as instituicoes privadas. Conclusao: os resultados desses ciclos avaliativos sao importantes para subsidiar processos investigativos e interventivos sobre e com os cursos de graduacao em enfermagem.

Intervenções educativas na prevenção ou tratamento da obesidade em adolescentes: revisão integrativa

Abstract: Objective: to identify the effectiveness of educational interventions to prevent or treat obesity in adolescents. Method: It was an integrative review of the literature, based on the guiding question: "What is the effectiveness of obesity prevention / treatment interventions in adolescents?" The search was carried out in six electronic databases in Portuguese, English and Spanish in July 2020, which allowed the identification of 5,401 articles. Results: 31 articles were identified that cover educational interventions based on nutritional and psychological support, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Physical activity, interdisciplinary behavioral, nutritional and lifestyle interventions predominated. The actions had a beneficial effect on the participants' quality of life, body mass index, daily exercise habits, and positive eating behavior among adolescents. The interventions for the control and prevention of obesity analyzed in this review had positive effects on reducing body weight. Conclusion: The findings pointed to the need for more studies to have greater control over the benefits and adherence to interventions aimed at preventing and treating obesity.

Do carcasses of lambs finished on commercial production systems meet market standards

Abstract: This study aimed to characterize a commercial lamb finishing system using animals of undefined breed from production to slaughter by analyzing performance, carcass traits, yield of commercial cuts, and the quality and meat acceptance of different slaughter groups, as to evaluate whether this system provides the market with a standardized product. The lots were not homogeneous for yield of commercial cuts and performance and morphometric traits evaluated in vivo. The groups were heterogeneous to 75% of the 13 carcass traits evaluated, among them, hot and cold carcass weights, hot and cold carcass yields, carcass grade finishing and biological yield. There was also no uniformity for the proportion of non-carcass components, morphometry of carcass, visual appraisals, and loin traits. On the other hand, homogeneity was achieved in physico-chemical and sensory traits, except for hardness and proportion of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids. We conclude that the commercial finishing system with the use of undefined crossbred lambs does not produce carcass and cuts standardized to the market.
