Do aldeamento do Riacho do Mato à Colônia Socorro: defesa de terras e aprendizado político dos indígenas de Pernambuco (1860-1880)

Abstract: RESUMO O objetivo do presente artigo e analisar o processo de formacao do aldeamento do Riacho do Mato, na decada de 1860, a partir das reivindicacoes de populacoes indigenas que habitavam a regiao e que tiveram intensa participacao nas revoltas ocorridas no inicio do seculo XIX em Pernambuco. A constituicao desse aldeamento e compreendida como um importante ganho dos indigenas en­volvidos nos conflitos armados iniciados pelas elites. Mesmo com a extincao da aldeia do Riacho do Mato e a criacao da Colonia Socorro em seu lugar, os indigenas continuaram lutando pelo acesso as terras. Manejando as legislacoes e disposicoes dos governos central e provincial visando as suas proprias necessidades, os indigenas construiram o seu protagonismo na vida politica regional e imperial.

Faramea baturitensis (Rubiaceae: Coussareeae), a new species from “Serra de Baturité,” Northeast Brazil

Abstract: As part of an ongoing study of the taxonomy and systematics of Rubiaceae of the state of Ceara, Brazil, a new species, Faramea baturitensis, is here recognized, described, and illustrated. The new species occurs in “Serra de Baturite,” a relic of the Atlantic Forest. Detailed data on the distribution, habitat, phenology, and conservation status of the new species, as well as a key to species of Faramea in Ceara, are provided.

Ipomoea lanifolia sp. nov. (Convolvulaceae), a new species endemic to the Ibiapaba plateau in northeastern Brazil

Abstract: A new species of Ipomoea, thus far endemic to Caatinga domain, is described. The species occurs in a “carrasco” physiognomy - a shrubby vegetation on sandy soils characterized by the presence of cacti and bromeliads. The new species can be recognized by a combination of morphological characters, including a leaf blade with a lanate abaxial surface with long hairs, and sepals lanceolate, acuminate, tomentose, and smooth. A complete description, diagnosis, an identification key for Ipomoea species from the Ibiapaba plateau, illustrations, conservation assessments, a distribution map, and taxonomic comments are provided.

Necessidades de qualificação dos enfermeiros da estratégia saúde da família no Ceará, Brasil

Abstract: The study aims to identify the qualification needs and the nurse profiles in the Family Health Strategy (FHS). An exploratory-descriptive research was carried out with 36 male nurses in the municipal districts of Acaraú, Coreaú, Chaval, Granja, Marco, and Santana of the Acaraú, that work in the HSF, and students of the specialization course in residence in family health supplied by the Graduate School in Family Health, Visconde of Sabóia, Brazil. The municipal districts are part of the project Basic Actions of Health in Ceará, Brazil Program of Qualification of the Secretary of Health of the State of Ceará in partnership with the German agency Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufdau-KfW and the Instituto Brasileiro de Qualidade Nuclear (IBQN). For the collection of data six workshops were carried out during July, 2004, in the municipal districts, at which time a questionnaire was completed. The qualification needs are centered in program actions, relative to the different phases of life –childhood, adolescence, adult and senior -, as well as common legislation, methods and procedures of nursing duties. We catered to the necessities of nurse training in regards to the concepts of promoting health, organizing services and family care in the concept of location..
