Segmentação psicográfica de consumidores paulistas de produtos de marca própria

Abstract: E inquestionavel a importância dos produtos de marca propria para a economia mundial. Mesmo diante do crescimento experimentado nos ultimos anos, no Brasil, ainda existe uma grande oportunidade, tanto para fabricantes como para varejistas, em potencializar as vendas deste tipo de produto. Diante disso, o presente estudo teve como objetivo principal identifi car o perfi l psicografi co dos consumidores de produtos de marcas proprias. Para tanto, realizou-se um survey, na qual foram entrevistados 393 consumidores em 14 diferentes pontos de vendas. Por meio da utilizacao da escala VALS (Value and Life Style) foram identifi cados os perfi s psicografi cos dos respondentes, alem de sua atitude em relacao a produtos de marca propria. Apos a analise dos dados, utilizando-se a analise fatorial exploratoria e a analise de correlacao bivariada, foi constatado que os perfi s de maiores recursos, tanto fi nanceiros como intelectuais, sao os mais propensos a utilizar produtos de marca propria e foram sugeridas estrategias para cada segmento identifi cado: os sobreviventes, os crentes, os pensadores e os experimentadores.

[Large-scale contamination by Bisphenol A: are we aware of the risk and forms of exposure?]

Abstract: Resumo O Bisfenol-A (BFA) e uma substância amplamente empregada no cotidiano, principalmente nos materiais plasticos. Este estudo avaliou a exposicao de universitarios ao disruptor endocrino BFA, o conhecimento dos mesmos acerca dessa substância e dos seus danos a saude humana. Trata-se de um estudo transversal descritivo realizado com 500 estudantes de uma Universidade de Curitiba. A amostra foi selecionada de forma proporcional as tres grandes areas do conhecimento, sendo que os cursos entrevistados foram sorteados. Aos estudantes aplicou-se um questionario objetivo composto por tres partes: socioeconomica, avaliacao da exposicao e testes de conhecimento. Dos respondentes, 91,3% consomem alimentos armazenados em embalagens plasticas, 90,06% utilizam bebidas nesse tipo de recipiente e 84,8% consomem bebidas/alimentos enlatados. Entretanto, apenas 19,8% ja ouviram falar em BFA e 97,2% nao sabem sobre a relacao entre a exposicao ao BFA e alteracoes endocrinas. Observou-se uma alta taxa de exposicao ao BFA e um baixo nivel de conhecimento sobre o assunto. Essa desproporcao evidencia a necessidade de pesquisas mais aprofundadas sobre o tema na populacao brasileira, alem da ampliacao de medidas informativas.

Clinical setting influences physiological responses in dental implant patients

Abstract: Anxiety is often observed in dental procedures and may cause promote alteration in the physiological responses during implant surgeries. Aim: To evaluate changes in blood pressure and heart rate in patients undergoing dental implant procedures, considering the dental setting as the main variable. Methods: Fifty-five patients who underwent dental implant surgery were evaluated. Thirty-seven were treated at a university clinic and 18 were treated at a private office. Blood pressure and heart rate were measured at the following time-points: at the appointment prior to surgery (T0), immediately before the surgical procedure (T1), during anesthesia (T2), during implant installation (T3), immediately after the surgical procedure (T4) and at the first follow-up appointment after surgery (T5). The data were analyzed by two-way analysis of variance and Student’s t-test. Results: The university clinic patients had an increase in heart rate at T5 (t53=2.62, p<0.05) compared with private office patients. Systolic blood pressure in university clinic patients was higher at T2 (t53=2.86, p<0.01), T3 (t53=2.64, p<0.05), and T4 (t53=3.15, p<0.01). Diastolic blood pressure at T2 (t53=3.15, p<0.01) and T3 (t53=3.86, p<0.01) were also higher in university clinic patients. Conclusions: These results suggest that the dental setting is a relevant factor when planning dental implant surgery.

Alterações bucais presentes em dependentes químicos Oral alterations among chemical dependents

Abstract: Introduction: It has been daily observed a significant increase of chemical dependent individuals, as well as the lack of depth on this issue in the dentistry area. Nevertheless many times the dental clinicians are the first professionals to diagnose possible alterations, which appear due to the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and other illicit drugs. Objectives: To make a literature review of oral alterations and to identify them on a specific group of persons, which are addicted to different types of drugs. Material and methods: The clinical history of the selected individuals was added to the answers of a questionnaire, comprising the data of the present research. Results: Besides other minor soft tissue alterations, a high prevalence of caries and periodontal diseases were found in the studied population. Conclusion: It was concluded that the role of the dental clinician is very important to the health rehabilitation of drug addicts, individuals with physical and mental disorders that need specific oral care, which sometimes is neglected.
