TL;DR: In this paper, a fieldwork on the incarceration conditions, process and experience at the Penitenciaria Feminina do Parana, located at the county of Piraquara (PR, Brazil), was conducted.
ABSTRACT This paper results from a fieldwork on the incarceration’s conditions, process and experience at the Penitenciaria Feminina do Parana, located at the county of Piraquara (PR, Brazil). The general dynamics of the “house” was analyzed through a basic, qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research. Our conclusions suggest that, although prison produces negative consequences for the inmates, a few elements, such as a good prison administration and the absence of overcrowding, may contribute to minimize these effects and to provide a legally appropriate punishment. Drawing a parallel between the exercise of punishment of male and female prisoners, this investigation also evidenced that it’s not possible to render to convicted women the treatment provided to imprisoned men, considering women’s behavior, gender, feelings, personality and sex particularities. KEYWORDS : Penalty; Execution; Penitentiary; Closed Regime; Women.

01 Apr 2016TL;DR: On histopathological examination, the presence of gastrointestinal epithelium, along with hair follicles and sebaceous glands in the capsule confirmed the final diagnosis of a teratoid cyst.
Abstract: . The cyst described here was completely excised by intraoral approach w, hich was determined by the location of the cysts on higher planes. A broad surgical field was obtained, allowing a blunt dissection and full removal of the cyst, without break of the capsule, reducing the chances of recurrence. On histopathological examination, the presence of gastrointestinal epithelium, along with hair follicles and sebaceous glands in the capsule confirmed the final diagnosis of a teratoid cyst.

01 Jan 2013TL;DR: This research proposes the application of the main concepts of SCOT and AST in an objective causal model to analyze the appropriation of IT and its effects on the outcomes in organizational mandatory settings.
Abstract: Organizations invest in information technology (IT) looking for positive results that can only be produced if the technology is effectively used by individuals. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) applies a simple and quantitative model to predict intention of use, but it has difficulties to keep its explanatory power when analyzing implementation in mandatory settings (which are usual in business organizations). The more interpretive and constructivist approaches of Social Construction of Technology (SCOT) and Adaptive Structuration Theory (AST) propose interesting concepts technological frame and appropriation – to qualitatively analyze the complex process of IT use as socially constructed. This research proposes the application of the main concepts of SCOT and AST in an objective causal model to analyze the appropriation of IT and its effects on the outcomes in organizational mandatory settings. We expect to contribute to appropriation theory and to the practice of IT implementation in the field.
