Physiotherapy Intervention During Level I of Pulmonary Rehabilitation on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Systematic Review

Abstract: Background: The progressive and chronic course of COPD, characterized by difficulty in breathing, can be aggravated by periods of increased symptoms (exacerbation). The treatment often involves in-hospital care and among the interventions applied in COPD patients, physical therapy prompts good results. However the most used techniques are not properly pinpointed and there is no consensus in the literature regarding its effectiveness.

Migraine in 746 patients with multiple sclerosis

Abstract: Migraine adds to the burden of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS). The ID-migraine is a useful tool for screening migraine, and the Migraine Disability Assessment questionnaire can evaluate disease burden. The aim of the present study was to assess the presence and burden of migraine in patients with MS. METHODS Patients diagnosed with MS attending specialized MS units were invited to answer an online survey if they also experienced headache. RESULTS The study included 746 complete responses from patients with MS and headache. There were 625 women and 121 men, and 69% of all the patients were aged between 20 and 40 years. Migraine was identified in 404 patients (54.1%) and a moderate-to-high burden of disease was observed in 68.3% of the patients. CONCLUSION Migraine is a frequent and disabling type of primary headache reported by patients with MS.

Abstract: The roots of science and art of plastic surgery are very antique. Anatomy, drawing, painting, and sculpting have been very important to the surgery and medicine development over the centuries. Artistic skills besides shape, volume, and lines perception can be a practical aid to the plastic surgeons’ daily work. An overview about the interactions between art and plastic surgery is presented, with a few applications to rhinoplasty, cleft lip, and other reconstructive plastic surgeries. This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Indicadores qualitativos de gestão para incubadoras e empresas empreendedoras incubadas: um estudo longitudinal

Abstract: Na literatura de gestao, sao inumeros os trabalhos que suportam a importância das incubadoras no apoio a projetos de empresas empreendedoras. Por outro lado, existem igualmente estudos que apontam um potencial reprimido no que diz respeito a aprendizagem e a transferencia de conhecimento entre ambas. Nesse sentido, tendo presente a importância social e economica local das incubadoras e de empresas empreendedoras, e a insuficiente sistematizacao do conhecimento pratico acumulado nesta area, este trabalho apresenta proposta de indicadores qualitativos de gestao. Utiliza como base teorica a concepcao de gestao enquanto pratica social e uma aproximacao com o uso de indicadores e a literatura de gestao de incubadoras. Desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa longitudinal junto a 18 incubadoras e 118 empresas incubadas no Estado do Parana, o que permitiu identificar e caracterizar cinco grupos de indicadores para a formacao de novos gestores, sendo estes: (1) Pre Incubacao e a Viabilidade do Negocio; (2) Financeiros; (3) de Mercado; (4) de Processos Internos e Interorganizacionais; e (5) de Pessoas e Desenvolvimento. Espera-se que os indicadores sugeridos sirvam, principalmente, para ampliar o debate em busca do entendimento a respeito do complexo fenomeno do empreendedorismo, da incubacao e do apoio a sua gestao.
