TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the possibility of using individual portfolios as an evaluation instrument for the learning process and found that experience with the portfolio contributed to the restructure of the pedagogical practice of evaluation in a dialogue movement between theory and practice.
Abstract: This study discusses aspects of the student evaluation in the school, particularly in Physical Education. We investigated the possibility of using individual portfolios as an evaluation instrument for the learning process. The research was conducted through an educational intervention with the aim of supporting data collected from the records of the following participants: the teacher-researcher and 23 students of the fourth grade of elementary school of a private school. This is a qualitative research, based on the type of sign paradigm. The primary sources were the students portfolios and the teacher-researcher diary. The study shows that experience with the portfolio contributed to the restructure of the pedagogical practice of evaluation in a dialogue movement between theory and practice. The study encouraged the perception of changes in the relationship between the teacher and students. However, the evaluation of the results indicates the need for a more adequate environment, so the teacher is able to implement the proposal in his/her classes.

TL;DR: Changes in metabolic demand in muscle strengthening in individuals with knee osteoarthritis is a common pathology, affecting 44-70% of people over 50, and up to 85% ofPeople over 75 years, and exercise and reduction of mechanical factors on the joint can provide improvement.
Abstract: Introducao. ABSTRACT Changes in metabolic demand in muscle strengthening in individuals with knee osteoarthritis Introduction. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common pathology, affecting 44-70% of people over 50, and up to 85% of people over 75 years. Exercise and reduction of mechanical factors on the joint can provide improvement. Objective. Evaluate and compare the metabolic demand of the protocol through the analysis of: heart rate (HR), blood glucose (GLI), lactate concentration (LAC) and pain scale, at the beginning and end of a therapy session at the end of protocol experimental. Method. Ten elderly subjects (68.60 ± 7.68 years, 155.60 ± 4.97cm, 77.90 ± 11.68kg) were evaluated, with knee AO (grade 1e2). The intervention was performed for 4 weeks, 3 times per week, exercises performed by 3 sets of 10 repetitions with 70% of the load of a maximum repetition, strengthening exercises for the knee flexor and extensor muscles, abductor / extensor / rotator-lateral muscles of the hip and plantar flexors. FC, LAC, GLI and pain were measured pre and post intervention and pre and post protocol, T test, level of significance was used: p <0.05. This project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (Opinion 1,031,341 approved in April 2015). Results. There was a significant increase in LAC only in the first intervention (p = 0.0108), GLI presented difference in the second intervention (p = 0.0152) and between the two (p = 0.0067), HR showed difference between only the two interventions (0.0448), the pain showed a significant difference between the interventions (p = 0.0007). Conclusion. The muscle strengthening protocol was able to beneficially influence pain intensity, concentration of LAC and GLI.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show up to the physical education teacher the most recent bibliographic characteristics of the DMI holder and their respective implications, in order to show that the teacher should be always alert in question to the particular characteristics of their diabetic students during hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia situations.

The physical education teacher must be prepared in a special way, due to physical activity, the risk of occur a hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia crisis over the class increases considerably. At this, it is necessary for teachers to be always alert in question to the particular characteristics of their diabetic students during hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia situations. In the presence of such necessity, the aim of this article is to show up to the physical education teacher the most recent bibliographic characteristics of the DMI-holder and respective implications.
