Abstract: For a long time, old age was almost exclusively understood as a life period related to the increase of disease occurrence and functional disability. However, a successful aging process has been proposed by recognized psychological theories, presenting opportunities for continual optimization of human development, far beyond levels of morbidity. Nevertheless, there is a lack of evidence about the elderly’s beliefs and concepts regarding the experience of aging, health and disease. Therefore, the present investigation aims to explore elderly’s representations about health and illness, based on the principles of qualitative epistemology proposed by Gonzalez Rey. Six elderly women, who participated in the Project Seniors for an Active Life (developed at Universidade Sao Judas Tadeu) were chosen for data collection. The study demonstrated that feeling healthy appears to be linked to autonomy in performing social roles and the possibility of achieving life goals, while illness appears to be linked to “being old”. Subjectification of old age, health and illness results in the denial of ageing. For the elderly women subject of the study the value given to physical activity as means to improve health is clear. But it is important to highlight that this value has not always been part of their lives: some had it from childhood, others since adulthood and some as a result of the Seniors for an Active Life project.

Abstract: Assessment in Physical Education (PE) in a Learning Community is the focus of this article. It is a descriptive research that used documentary analysis, non-participant observation and semi-structured interview with a teacher of PE for data collection. The teacher uses conversations before and after activities, written record of observations, exchange of e-mails and individual conversations with learners as evaluation tools because he understands that is necessary to consider the entire educational process. The conclusion is that the teacher uses these assessment tools to dialogue with the students about the knowledge acquired during the activities performed and to reorganize their pedagogical practice.

Abstract: A intervencao urbana desempenha um papel fundamental na politica municipal, por constituir um instrumento de mudanca de dinâmicas territoriais consolidadas, que enseja o enfrentamento da relacao entre transformacoes e permanencias, principalmente em projetos de grande porte. Em Sao Paulo, a Operacao Urbana tem sido o instrumento privilegiado de intervencao, considerado estrategico para incentivar novos empreendimentos, em busca da chamada requalificacao urbana. As mudancas decorrentes da implantacao desse tipo de instrumento podem causar maior ou menor impacto sobre o territorio, dependendo da relacao que se estabelece entre as transformacoes e permanencias urbanas. A Operacao Urbana, por ter como fundamento o projeto urbanistico, constitui oportunidade de se evitarem processos de ruptura fisica e social no territorio. Importante proposta de intervencao, em andamento na cidade de Sao Paulo, e a Operacao Urbana Consorciada Bairros do Tamanduatei, cuja implementacao, se aprovada, implicara mudancas significativas no setor sudeste do municipio. A analise da proposta do projeto, objeto deste artigo, mostra como essas questoes tem sido enfrentadas no âmbito da politica urbana municipal mais recente. PALAVRAS ‑ CHAVE : Desenvolvimento urbano. Abstract: Os valores sao construtos sociais que orientam as escolhas as escolhas dos individuos. Eles estao presentes no curriculo escolar e nas aulas de Educacao Fisica, explicitando a abordagem pedagogica adotada pelo professor. A Motricidade Humana tem inspirado a intervencao pedagogica de alguns professores e veicula um conjunto de valores. O objetivo do presente ensaio e discutir os valores que podem constituir o curriculo de uma proposta de Educacao Fisica (EF) Escolar que se fundamente nos pressupostos da Ciencia da Motricidade Humana (CMH). A CMH, proposta inicialmente por Manuel Sergio, influenciou a producao de conhecimentos e a intervencao Profissional em Educacao Fisica, dentro e fora da escola. Ela tem suas bases num determinado sistema de valores e no questionamento de valores vigentes. Assim, critica a visao reducionista do ser humano que focaliza apenas os aspectos biologicos envolvidos na pratica motora e que preponderou entre os pesquisadores da Educacao Fisica por muitos anos. Em termos ontologicos, a CMH atribui ao ser humano uma incompletude perene, porem tal incompletude e a responsavel para que o homem, dotado de intencionalidade, se relacione com o mundo e com os outros com vistas a preenche-la, num movimento incessante. Varios pesquisadores da area adotaram a expressao Motricidade Humana em seus estudos. Alguns utilizam a expressao sem compreender suas bases epistemologicas. Outros, no entanto, tem se dedicado a compreender e a construir essa nova ciencia. A partir do trabalho produzido por esses estudiosos e possivel identificar alguns conceitos e valores basicos da CMH, como liberdade, consciencia, transcendencia, intencionalidade, criatividade e, especialmente, autonomia. O professor de Educacao Fisica que escolher a CMH para fundamentar sua pratica pedagogica tera como desafio construir um projeto pedagogico adequado para possibilitar a construcao desses valores e relaciona-los com a especificidade da area.
