TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a membrane bioreactor in wastewater treatment to remove arsenic from the treated water and showed that the membrane in hybrid systems allows a better phase separation between the particles binding the arsenic and treated water.
Abstract: Arsenic contamination as a consequence of human activities such as mining and pesticide use is affecting the water resource quality worldwide. Because of the high risk of arsenic exposure, specific water treatment processes are required to meet the anticipated more severe water quality standards. Better understanding of presently available processes is necessary to develop economic, efficient and effective methods for arsenic removal. Arsenic could either be coagulated, adsorbed using a wide range of materials both mineral and organic or could be directly rejected by membrane processes such as reverse osmosis and nanofiltration. The recent development of submerged hybrid membrane systems, such as membrane bioreactor in wastewater treatment, offers alternative technologies for arsenic treatment. The membrane in hybrid systems allows a better phase separation between the particles binding the arsenic and the treated water. The effect of pH and contact time, and the existence of other ionic compounds must be taken into account when designing the system for optimum arsenic rejection. Further research on both hydraulic and removal performances of hybrid adsorption/membrane technology is still required to assess the full potential of this technology for arsenic removal.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present important aspects of a PV-grid integrated dc fast charger with a special focus on the charging system components, architecture, operational modes, and control.
Abstract: The fast charger for electric vehicle (EV) is a complex system that incorporates numerous interconnected subsystems. The interactions among these subsystems require a holistic understanding of the system architecture, control, power electronics, and their overall interaction with the electrical grid system. This review paper presents important aspects of a PV-grid integrated dc fast charger—with a special focus on the charging system components, architecture, operational modes, and control. These include the interaction between the PV power source, grid electricity, energy storage unit (ESU) and power electronics for the chargers. A considerable amount of discussion is also dedicated to battery management systems (BMS) and their mutual interactions in the control processes. For the power electronics, the paper evaluates soft switching non-isolated dc-to-dc power converter topologies that can be possibly used as future EV chargers. In addition to these, a brief discussion on the impact of the PV-grid charging on the ac grid and distribution system and their remedial measures are presented. Furthermore, the challenges in regard to the vehicle to grid (V2G) concept are also described. It is envisaged that the information provided in this paper would be useful as a one-stop document for engineers, researchers and others who require information related to the dc fast charging of EV that incorporates a renewable energy source.

TL;DR: A literature review on applications of Levy flight laws has been presented in this paper, where the authors used Levy flight technique to solve and optimize the problem regarding diffusive, scaling and transmission.
Abstract: This paper presents a literature review on applications of Levy flight. Nowadays, Levy flight laws has been used for a broad class of processes such as in physical, chemical, biological, statistical and also in financial. From the review, Levy flight technique has been applied mostly in physics area where the researchers use Levy flight technique to solve and optimize the problem regarding diffusive, scaling and transmission. This paper also reviews the latest researches using modified Levy flight technique such as truncated, smoothly truncated and gradually truncated Levy Flight for optimization. Finally, future trends of Levy flight are discussed.
