Abstract: Insider transactions are not random across growth and value stocks. We find that insider buying climbs as stocks change from growth to value categories. Insider buying is also greater after lower stock returns, and lower after high stock returns. These findings are consistent with a version of overreaction which says that prices of value stocks tend to lie below fundamental values, and prices of growth stocks tend to lie above fundamental values.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduce the physics of solitary waves in alignments of elastic beads, such as glass beads or stainless steel beads, and show that any impulse propagates as a new kind of highly interactive solitary wave through such an alignment and that the existence of these waves seems to present a need to re-examine the very definition of equilibrium.

Abstract: Resistivity saturation is observed in many metallic systems with large resistivities---when the resistivity has reached a critical value, its further increase with temperature is substantially reduced. This typically happens when the apparent mean free path is comparable to the interatomic separations---the Ioffe-Regel condition. Recently, several exceptions to this rule have been found. This colloquium first reviews experimental results and early theories of resistivity saturation. It then describes more recent theoretical work, addressing cases both where the Ioffe-Regel condition is satisfied and where it is violated. In particular, the authors show how the (semiclassical) Ioffe-Regel condition can be derived quantum mechanically under certain assumptions about the system and why these assumptions are violated for high-${T}_{c}$ cuprates and alkali-doped fullerides.

Abstract: Like many in the human services professions, teachers are susceptible to the feelings of burnout due to their job demands, as well as interactions with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents. Many studies have identified teacher burnout as one of the crucial components influencing teacher attrition. It has been suggested that self-efficacy is a protective factor against burnout. By way of multivariate meta-analysis, we examined the evidence for classroom management self-efficacy (CMSE) in relation to the three dimensions of burnout: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and (lowered) personal accomplishment. Results from sixteen studies indicate that there is a significant relationship between classroom management self-efficacy and the three dimensions of burnout, suggesting that teachers with higher levels of CMSE are less likely to experience the feelings of burnout. Practical implications, as well recommendations for future research, are discussed.
