Abstract: A method of field quantization is investigated which is more general than the usual methods of quantization in accordance with Bose of Fermi statistics, though these are included in the scheme. The commutation properties and matrix representations of the quantized field amplitudes are determined, and the energy levels of the field are derived in the usual way. It is shown that spin-half fields can be quantized in such a way that an arbitrary finite number of particles can exist in each eigenstate. With the generalized statistics, the interchange of two particles of the same kind may or may not be physically significant, according to the type of interaction by means of which they are created or annihilated. Physical consequences of the assumption that there are particles which obey the generalized statistics are briefly examined.

Abstract: To address aggravating energy and environment issues, inexpensive, highly active, and durable electrocatalysts as noble metal substitutes both at the anode and cathode are being actively pursued. Among them, heteroatom-doped graphene-based materials show extraordinary electrocatalytic performance, some even close to or outperforming the state-of-the-art noble metals, such as Pt- and IrO2-based materials. This review provides a concise appraisal on graphene doping methods, possible doping configurations and their unique electrochemical properties, including single and double doping with N, B, S, and P. In addition, heteroatom-doped graphene-based materials are reviewed as electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction, hydrogen evolution, and oxygen evolution reactions in terms of their electrocatalytic mechanisms and performance. Abstract: A new class of highly efficient oxygen evolution catalysts has been synthesized through the self-assembly of graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets and carbon nanotubes, driven by π-π stacking and electrostatic interactions. Remarkably, the catalysts exhibit higher catalytic oxygen evolution activity and stronger durability than Ir-based noble-metal catalysts and display the best performance among the reported nonmetal catalysts. This good result is attributed to the high nitrogen content and the efficient mass and charge transfer in the porous three-dimensional nanostructure.

Abstract: Meteoroids can be observed at collision with the Earth's atmosphere as meteors. Different methods of observing meteors are presented: besides the traditional counts of individual events, exact methods yield also data on the geometry of the atmospheric trajectory; on the dynamics and ablation of the body in the atmosphere; on radiation; on the spectral distribution of radiation; on ionization; on accompanying sounds; and also data on orbits. Theoretical models of meteoroid interaction with the atmosphere are given and applied to observational data. Attention is paid to radar observations; to spectroscopic observations; to experiments with artificial meteors and to different types of meteor sounds. The proposed composition and structure of meteoroids as well as their orbits link them to meteorites, asteroids and comets. Meteor streams can be observed as meteor showers and storms. The rate of influx of meteoroids of different sizes onto Earth is presented and potential hazards discussed.
