TL;DR: In this article, a voltage generator for low power applications includes a circuit for generating, controlling and maintaining a high voltage for low-power applications in an integrated circuit, which includes separate standby and active circuits for pumping VCCP of a DRAM under different circumstances.
Abstract: A voltage generator for low power applications includes a circuit for generating, controlling and maintaining a high voltage for low power applications in an integrated circuit. The circuit includes separate standby and active circuits for pumping VCCP of a DRAM under different circumstances. The standby and active circuits operate independently of one another, but may operate simultaneously, to pump charge to VCCP. The standby circuit is generally a low power circuit activated in response to power up and leakage current conditions to maintain VCCP. The active circuit is generally a larger circuit and can pump more current. The active circuit is generally responsive to the word lines being driven. Accordingly, the voltage generator can maintain VCCP while minimizing power consumption in DRAM.

TL;DR: The authors found that the reciprocal effect of brand extension evaluations on brand evaluations exists, and that the phenomenon occurs in the presence of different attribute cues about the extension and for consumers with differing levels of need for cognition.
Abstract: While the benefits that brand leveraging brings to the brand extensionmarket have been widely discussed and documented, the reciprocal impact ofthis action on brand evaluation has received less attention and is thesubject of greater speculation. Empirical studies have failed to uncover areciprocal effect from extension evaluation to brand evaluation. As aresult, a consensus view has emerged suggesting that established brand namesare sufficiently strong so as to make them resilient or even immune toextension-induced attitude change. Our results challenge this view in thatwe find that: i) the reciprocal effect of brand extension evaluations onbrand evaluations exists, ii) the phenomenon occurs in the presence ofdiffering attribute cues about the extension (i.e., descriptions of brandrelated or distinctive product attributes) and for consumers with differinglevels of need for cognition.

TL;DR: In this paper, a model of sexual deviance is presented which illustrates that lack of empathy mediates the associations between childhood victimization experiences and adult risk for sexual offending against women and children.
Abstract: A model of sexual deviance is presented which illustrates that lack of empathy mediates the associations between childhood victimization experiences and adult risk for sexual offending against women and children. For 188 incarcerated sexual offenders, admissions of victims and disclosures of childhood experiences of abuse and early exposure to pornography were recorded from criminal history, a sexual history questionnaire, and polygraph examinations. Empathy was assessed using victim- and abuse-specific measures. Structural equation modeling was used to test a model that included the direct effects of childhood victimization on number and type of victims, as well as the mediated effects through lack of empathy. Offenders who reported child sexual abuse as children and early exposure to pornography displayed less empathy for children in abusive situations and they reported more child victims. Offenders who reported physical abuse displayed less empathy for women in abusive situations and they reported more...
