TL;DR: In this article, various layered double hydroxides (LDHs) consisting of magnesium and a trivalent metal (Al, Ga or In) in an Mg/M (III) ratio of 3 were prepared by precipitation from the corresponding nitrates and also from magnesium ethoxide and the acetylacetonates of the tri-valent metals using the sol-gel method.
